When in NY, he wasn't playing, so he decided to go back to Europe as soon as his contract was finished. He's now starting in Minnesota, so he could have changed his mind. I love ZaZa, but he's making nothing to deserve his spot as Horf's backup. I don't want ZaZa to go (and I don't think some team would take him from our hands), but I think Darko could help us a lot with his rebounding and blocking abilities.

Re: Should we go after Darko?
I saw Darko a few weeks ago in a game vs Miami. He played well but he looked depressed & a little out of shape. There was one sequence in the 4th quarter where he just walked by all his teammates on the way to the bench and left all of them hanging. I think he's pretty set on going back to Europe.

Too bad, I would love to see him in a Hawks uni. I mean, he can't do any worse than ZaZa, Joe Smith and Collins. However, I'm quite certain he's going to make a lot more money in Europe next year than in the NBA.

Take it from me he is done. No motivation he simply does not care and that is why he sucks.
Magic fan since Inaugural 89 season.

Re: Should we go after Darko?
Not interested in Darko, but I do wish to place some blame on Larry Brown for how his career has gone. I firmly believe that Brown's attempt to force Darko into being a traditional center ruined the game for Darko and killed the last of his motivation. I know that was a long time ago but I feel he never recovered. Sometimes (often actually) you can't turn a player into what you want and you just have to accept what they are.

It's still pretty amazing that Darko is only 24. That's younger than both Acie and Shelden.

Re: Should we go after Darko?
I've said it before and here it goes again. He's better than advertised. I think his main issue is confidence and motivation. How in the world can anyone get motivated playing for the Knicks and not seeing playing time for like 8-10 games or whatever? He's showing some signs of life in Minny. He's way better than Zaza imo. who isn't?
GO HAWKS.
