Thinking of buying season tickets for next year. What are some of the "perks" of being a season ticket holder, if any?

Thanks

I am, but I didn't really have any perks I felt compelled share. There were good perks this year, but they are being phased out.

Depending on ticket price you get a certain amount of money in the ticketbank to use for extra tickets.
There are some season ticket holder events you get invited to attend, but that's not my thing.
Some sections have a sizable discount on single game price, but that is changing as well. My seat will be about $10 a game more expensive next year.
I believe you'll get some free tickets to the Thrashers as well.

Those are the high points.

They also send discount to some local restaurants out. They're pretty decent discounts, but as they require you spend a certain amount to qualify they are really glorified coupons instead of freebies.

Can people share how much their season ticket costs (total for the 45 games). Thanks.

I've never asked in you can have multiple names on the account, but sure you can pool your money and then split up the tickets. The only caution is that you'll need to be willing to work out the schedule nicely on who goes to what game. Friendships have gotten screwed up for less.

They also sell partial packages (22 or 11 game). Not much of a discount if any that way but it does guarantee seats.

Instead of creating another topic here is some bad news.

Some Hawks season-ticket holders hit with big price hike

Some Hawks season-ticket holders have had to decide how much of a premium they are willing to pay for the best seats in the house at Philips Arena.

The Hawks have notified VIP season-ticket holders that ticket prices will increase by nearly 50 percent for next season. The Hawks made the decision after researching premium ticket prices at other NBA arenas and also considering the demand for their best tickets.

VIP tickets are club seats, suites and seats in other areas that the team designates as “premium seats.”

To prepare its VIP ticket holders for the potential sticker shock, the team’s marketing and sales employees called them before renewal information was sent out. Friday was the first renewal deadline.

“We absolutely don’t want to lose season-ticket holders,” said Tracy White, the Hawks’ senior vice president for sales and marketing. “But at end of the day we had to take a hard look at what the value is in specific areas, particularly those where we are at capacity or near-capacity and people continue to express interest in getting in.

“Where we have had to make a decision if [tickets] are appropriately priced, we looked at what is going on in other markets while still being sensitive to what is going on economically.”

To soften the blow, the Hawks are offering premium-seat holders incentives that include food and beverages in the cost of the ticket. Link

What perks this year are being phased out next year?

Re: "ticket bank", if you are a season ticket holder and have tickets to all of the games why do they think you need an allowance to spend on more of the same? Seems like a cheaper overall price would be more logical. Could you just sell the extras? Do they limit what games you can use your ticket bank on?

Do they let you trade tickets in for games you do not attend? I know the Braves do this. Braves will even let you turn in tickets after the game for a fee.

How many Thrashers tickets and to how many games? Do they pick the games?

Thanks!

I'm not the best person to answer sales question as I normally give away my seats when I can't use them or I don't know that I can't make it until it is too late to find someone. In theory I guess you could use your bank to buy tickets and then resell them, but that is theoretical as I've not worked with this bank yet. With your actual season tickets within the system I know you can sell, print, or forward your tickets for any game. If you sell them I believe the money goes into your "bank" and can be used for playoffs, future seasons, extra tickets, etc. I'll try posting a link to their ticket management faq (don't know if requires system login though.

In response to the price hike, the seat (I only renewed one of the two I had) is going up substantially (40%), but the price is still substantially discounted from face price because of the location I'm at. This year we had parking included in the price, so I felt I had a great deal and I understand the change. Last year I had a single ticket in a much better location, but I gave it up for the discounted area (among other reasons). Strangely that seat appears to be about the same price as it was 2 years ago, so I think the story about the price hike doesn't necessarily affect all seats (just the ones that were affordable to start with).
