I mean, we won the game by 23, but we were outscored by 19 in the 14 minutes Tatum sat. That included 5 minutes of garbage time where we were -7, and I believe 9 minutes of Jaylen where we were -12. He also took more shots than Tatum, and took many touches away from Tatum, who produced more per shot and per touch.

In case you were looking for someone to point that out?

9 games in, Jaylen's stats look like this:

23 ppg (worst since 2019-20 season)
.216 FTr (worst ever)
.694 FT% (worst since 2018-19)
Only 21% of shots attempted in the restricted area (a big drop from last season but he's had two seasons where he was worse)
68.6% shooting in the restricted area (worst since 2018-19 season)
.382 3P% (percentage and attempt rate best in 3 years)
Adjusted TS of 99 (worst since 2018-19)

His scoring efficiency went down despite his volume going down and taking a ton of corner threes.

Hey maybe we can trade him for Siakam, he is lighting it up 9 games into the season.

A full 2/3 of his threes from the corner (PJ Tucker- / Bruce Bowen-esque)
Adjusted TS of 99 (worst since 2018-19)

BBRef has his corner 3% at 67% and his attempts at a career low 8.8%. What source are you using? I WISH he was shooting a higher percentage of his 3's from the corners.

Yikes I mixed up the two! The perils of trying to generate a quick report. I too wish he was shooting more from the corner, and thought Mazzulla had solved Jaylen's 3p% issue. It looks like he's just on a hot streak.
