I don't remember the Celtics ever cutting a guy they drafted like this. Was there anything wrong with Watson? Or was he just the sacrifice they had to make to sign this new guy?

Good question and idk the answer. I did remark a couple weeks back that Watson was looking pretty thick in highlight clips, but I have no idea if that was indicative of anything.

From the stats he wasn’t shooting well which was the whole plan for him when we drafted him. So I’m guessing they didn’t think he had what it takes after seeing him 7-8 months.

Just for reminding the team that we probably shouldn't let people wear it before we retire Danny as player/GM legend?
Presumably on Tree Rollins' (or Billy King's) birthday.

I do like the cockiness though. That's pretty solid.

Sorry, my bad, apologies. That's a Kyrie reference lol.

He looked pretty good out there last night. I wish they had tried to get him a shot though. I'm not sure where we landed on his height, but he looked tall and long to me.
We won it for Al!!!

A couple of thoughts after a couple of games on Norris...

Despite needing substantial work everywhere, he has two things going for him.

1) That three ball of his looks like a possible weapon. It's not really the accuracy, it's the way he gets the shot off. Norris only needs a little room. Then, with his unusual length and quick release he can get the three up with ease. It always looks the same, and that crucial part of his game looks transferable to the NBA.

2. About that length. Drew Peterson has decent size, but is effectively not as tall as listed due to an extra long head and neck. Norris is the opposite. He's got high shoulders and very long arms, making him effectively taller than his height.

He needs to get stronger; learn positioning better; be more aggressive, active, and available; and improve his D too. But his three point release and his length make him a long-shot prospect.

Though Norris has quite a ways to go, he's more interesting than Anton Watson was.

Agree with this. Maybe tonight against BKN is a chance to see Norris if he travels with the team.

Peterson has the experience plus is a known commodity with the team. Knows where to be, and can handle the ball at times.

Norris has that additional length and athletic bounce. He's more of a front court player. Question is whether he is strong enough and moves well on defense and can hit that 3 ball (which looks smooth but we need to see it in the NBA).

Nets are all but out of playoff contention now, let's hope for a good game that turns into a runaway in the 4th and we can see some deep bench action for the C's. I have no idea if Norris is with the team, but this looks like a game for him to get some burn.

I'd rather see Peterson and Norris (50 games due to 2way) on the bench than Tillman next season.

I watched three quarters of the game yesterday. Maine won another one, and remains in first place.

Davison was once again the best player on the floor, the smallest too. The Greensboro TV guy said stuff about him like (paraphrasing), "They've tried everything to slow him down, and nothing works." Davison had 34 points and it looked easy. His three pointer was dropping as well, which was nice.

The second best player for Maine was Hason Ward, who had 16 points on 8-10 with 7 rebounds and strong D. Ward is incrementally expanding his offense, though he's still really raw on that end.

Peterson occasionally manages to look better on an NBA floor than he does in the G league. I've never seen anyone else accomplish this.

Miles Norris. New night, same song. He's got that really great three point release, and not much else. Right now he's a 3 without D guy.

He has good bball IQ. There's plenty of stretches in g league games, not just Maine that turns into full blown summer league.
