Anyone worried about JTs efficiency?

VC/CP:

Celtics are now 10-1 when Horford scores 24+ pts including playoffs.
Celtics are now 53-3 when Holiday scores 14+ pts including playoffs.

Those two know the most what's at stake. They're gearing up for war.

Big Al was in playoff mode! Great game by the vet and strong team win to finish with a 6-0 road trip. C's looking like a juggernaut, going to be a fun post season! Back to Back def has a nice ring to it, but there's prob 3 or 4 teams that can truly win it IMO.... lets see if they can 1 up the 08 boys! Go C's

Yup I haven’t been all that worried about Jrue. He had a crazy run in some areas last year it wasn’t fair to assume that’s his new normal. Rumors of Jrue’s demise are greatly premature.

I’ve got to give it to KP, Memphis seemed incredibly bothered by his size.

he's taking a lot of junk iso 3s, which I hope are just regular season 'filler'. Last May and June he cranked up his # of drives to the basket, and as long as we see that again when it matters I'm good.

But: if posting JT up from 20 feet is a new focal point of our offense, I don't love it. Saw that quite a bit last night and it led to a lot of predictable fadeaway long 2s. Can imagine that's just late-season 'filler' too -- or trying to develop it as a backup option if needed in the playoffs for a limited # of possessions -- getting him doing it poorly and well on film now could be of some benefit.

Verbatim text message I got from my 75 year old mother after the game last night:

Good win! (basketball emoji, fire emoji)
Did you see Brown got a haircut? I love it!
Now I am watching Puke-a and LeBarf! (poop emoji)

I consider myself pretty creative/imaginative when it comes to stuff like names. But haven't ever thought of what now seems like a perfect Combo for the LAL duo. Now I see why you are thread title KING!

Al is averaging 12/8/3 on a 61% TS, in 14 games since the all star break.

Celtics shot 2-16 off of passes from Jayson last night, and still dropped 117.

Don't want to wear the tread off those tires too early, make sure he gets plenty of rest. 26/8 with good defense and basically 50% from three, if he can give us the occassional performance like that in the playoffs we're going to be pretty damned hard to beat. I get keeping him warm but I'd like to see him closer to 20 mins max.

I think the same initially. But, I think Joe's theory on this is that you can't go from playing 20 mpg to all of a sudden doing 30+ in the playoffs, so he likes to extend guys a little. Then give them days off instead. Al didn't play against SAS, so Joe felt fine to extend him a little.

I'm not 100% positive I'm on board (extend him to 32 min instead of 37, lol), but I can see the logic.

Exactly. Extend him from 31 to 32. Then next week to 33, etc.

His 3pt att dropped by 1 in the playoffs last year while his minutes increased by 5 and his fta's and % increased. He had 3 games where he went 3 crazy but for the most part he was playing bully ball.

I see a finals MVP to add to his C's legacy.

No need to worry.
