Maybe because I already know the majority of the stuff they had there. I guess there's just so much you can cram into an hour. Still no Gorman. Did he turn down the opportunity to be interviewed? No Rondo either (or I missed it)?

You missed Rondo, he was there and interviewed.

Great series but I agree that there was a lot in the 2009-2024 timeframe that got rushed through a little given that it was fifteen years, they should have had a 10th episode.

Particularly with IT4, he was a footnote in that documentary. Jeff Green with potentially career-ending surgery? Only one season of missing the playoffs after going nuclear on the rebuild? Trading Smart to get over the hump? The Kyrie villain story? 4 years of pundits wanting to separate JB & JT? Brad Stevens batting 1000% as a GM
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
This series sucked.

I know from context because I was there that Brown was not booed when he was drafted because Boston didn't like him.

He was booed because Boston fans expected the Celtics to trade that pick for Butler and make a contender out a team that was allege ready to make that next jump.

So when you leave out that very important context to fit a narrative of the documentary you can't help but wonder what else they did to manipulate the facts.

Even a Celtic docu series meant to be for entertainment purposes is bad? :noway:

Is that a real question

Why JB was booed is another story.

Point is one portion of a very long series you don't like so the whole series sucks?

Everything has to be perfect and accurate for it not to suck?

Have you watched the series? What are your thoughts.

I already said in a previous post that they spent all their time on race, which continues all the way through the series even as it became less and less relevant to the Celtics and not enough time on the success of the team.

They literally glossed over a dozen of their titles. People are now understanding my point when I said how can we be 6 episodes in and we're only in the mid 80s and we still have almost 40 years left to cover.

they gave len bias about 20 minutes of that 9 hour documentary. Reggie fared a little better.

What's the point of bringing in ainge, bird, Kevin and parish if you're not even going to ask them about bias and how that affected the 87 season?

This show desperately wanted to be the last dance but it lacked the depth and focus.

But that's just my thoughts. Why don't you give us a detailed version of what you thought of all nine episodes.

Overall I loved it. The last two were rushed though and lots of story lines glossed over or skipped.
IT4, Kelly Olynyk, the Kyrie Saga, playoffs in the JB/JT era. Maybe that was intentional because it’s recent? Could have easily stretched episodes7,8,9 into 5 or 6 episodes imo.

It's not the best, but it doesn't suck either.

Well, I feel we have to remember, this is primarily a look at the Celtics through the life of Bill Simmons, as it was when he was growing up, and it was a bonding thing with his Dad. I did show it to my Sports and Society HS class, and they really got a lot out of it. Maybe, as we are/were so familiar with it, we expected "new" stuff? I felt it was well done though overall; nothing can be perfect.

Just finished watching episode 9.

No way this docu sucks.

The Celtics is something that I grew up with because I love basketball.

So this documentary brings me back to the 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s, and the present.

This is like 1990s music to me.

To each his own, I guess.

Yeah I wanted more time spent on the current team, but loved the series overall.

The sole reason I checked it out is for Darko and the original JT, Jason Terry. Bill Simmons flubbed this.

Also really glossed over the Dino Radja era.
