he was available if we absolutely wanted to blow the lead again, like in 3 previous games in the series.

He is clearly ill and just not able to do much right now. Yes he is often injury prone and somewhat soft but when healthy he is a very effective player. It is horrible timing and unfortunate. What bothers me more is that up until the 2nd half game 5, Joe was still putting him on the court.

That's right. He's clearly very sick with something troubling. Joe is to blame for playing, let alone starting, him.

But I'm ready to move on from him. Two postseasons where we've gotten very little from him relative to what we gave up and what he's being paid. Thank God we have Horford and now Kornet to fill in for him.

An expiring center who is very skilled can still ball part-time shouldn't be hard to move. Some contender will make the gamble.

Now the question becomes, what do we do with the center position? And no, "max Kornet" isn't a serious answer.

Freak injury and then weird prolonged illness. I get that he's got a history of missing chunks of time, but I'm still willing to roll the dice. When he's healthy, he's very good. And given that he doesn't seem to have a future-facing long-term problem, I'd like to keep him.

Does this mean heat like criticism or heat like steam room therapy? Or both?

I hope this current series goes two more games.
KP should be in street clothes for both of them. (Or the hospital, but that's a joke)
Al/Luke/Queta should be gearing up for war. Win or die trying with those guys and those guys only.
Hopefully Al can be effective on Friday after 'only' going 24 minutes last night, and if they win Friday, it's a needed weekend of rest for Al until G7 on Monday.
If the Cs advance to the ECF, maybe KP can be re-evaluated for any ability to contribute then.
It's spooky and mystifying that he's so sick from an unidentified illness, but if that's the reality then that's the reality -- he should NOT be on the court or available in any way for Joe to stupidly put him out there for whatever remains of this round.

Honestly, If KP cannot breath and this continues past the offseason....he should consider retiring.

I'm not a doctor but I'm guessing he has a partially collapsed lung. I know people who have experienced that and the symptoms are identical. It gets better, but it takes time.

The thing I didn’t expect with him was what a great smile and persona he has. I really hadn’t seen that until he came here, when he just had the best **** eating grin all the time for a year plus. Just looked like a fun guy to be around.

I haven’t seen anything but a grimace on his face for forever. Idk what’s going on with him but he’s not right.

I don’t care how ill you are , how is it possible to be 7’3 but unable to finish at the net?

He really did that?
