It depends what you consider “stockpile” and when you stop calling vets a “stockpile”. The Ainge draft “stockpile” was already used on Kyrie Tatum and Brown unless you’re going to sit here and say that Kemba was an asset. Romeo was a jag at the time and looked to be close to being out of the league, Nesmith was another guy who had zero value and was essentially a throw in to Indy for Brogdon. Marcus and Timelord were extremely overrated. So if you are referring to stockpile as veteran players already in Boston then yeah he traded guys that Ainge drafted that weren’t good enough. That’s what a GM is supposed to do.

Can’t believe we are at the stage where we’re questioning Brad’s GM abilities.

Got us Derrick White for a pile of nothing basically.

Had the balls to move on Smart when another GM could have talked himself after that Miami series into thinking we just need a little bit more luck.

Got us Holiday.

Got us a title.

And trading Smart took massive balls. He was the most popular Celtic since Pierce/KG maybe even Bird. That deal was blasted by the fan base. People wanted to give him a ring last year. Plus if he stays who knows if Derrick White is the same player same with JB and Tatum since the team always deferred to Marcus Smart in crunch time to shoot one of his 80 3’s.

Trading Timelord and Brogdon to get Jrue was a chess move that worked.

Derrick White - by far his best move. Not even the biggest Celtics downer on this board can argue this.

This now becomes extremely hard since they successfully tanked their trade value..

I think that's joe's going away present.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Nuggets or Pacers for me. I just like Jokic that much. And even if I'm not a fan of Westbrook, I want him to win one.

Hauser is good as gone. But I dont think one series will tank his value. KP…Celtics are going to have to explain what his illness is.

If I would have known this season would end with JT tearing his achilles and us getting destroyed in the second round by the Knicks, that would have saved me a lot of time this year.

You don’t remember Kyrie’s final season here when him and Rozier were pretty much ripping apart the locker room and both decided to pout and no show vs Milwaukee?

Or when Kyrie called Boston racist and stomped on the Leprechaun

Or when the Celtics choked twice to Miami?

Yeah it’s disappointing but hardly the worst way they’ve gone out.

That Kyrie year we were not meant to beat Milwaukee. They were the favorites. The entire season was **** awful.

The Leprechaun stomp we were Tatum and a bunch of ****. First round exit. Terrible squad.

Miami season maybe but they didn’t get humiliated in the 2nd round. They lost in game 7 of the ECf. Denver wass heavy favorites that year.

This is a 60 win team losing by 40 in game 6 of the semis. The championship favorite. Terrible.

This season sucks but are we just going to ignore some of the circumstances?

Porzingis has been a COMPLETE zero the entire series. He was one of our best players in several games against NY the last two years.

Tatum was probably dealing with a fractured wrist prior to the Achilles.

Brown’s knee clearly needs to be repaired.

Holiday’s finger injury is a months long one that clearly never healed and then he strained his hamstring.

This is why it is so damn hard to repeat in the NBA. So much luck needs to go your way.

We had some luck last year. We didn’t this year.

We wouldn’t have won 60 games with this version of Holiday, Brown and Porzingis

That’s basically what I meant. Besides a little rough patch in like January, we went into the end of the season rolling, 60 win team and then suddenly Brown has questions about his knee, Porzingis gets sick or whatever the **** it is that he has, you lose two straight bull games at home and when you comeback Tatum tears his achilles..like it just went from so good to so shambolic so quickly.
WHAT THEY GON’ SAY NOW? ‎ THANK YOU TRUTH!

Completely unacceptable to lose games 1 and 2 at home and losing 2 20 point leads. This alone should get Joe fired.

I’m not arguing for keeping him, I just have a very difficult time seeing Brad be reactionary like that.

I hope he prioritizes cleaning house on the roster though.

Brad needs to go also
He brought this kind of basketball, players and coaches
It was good for 1 championship
Just like DA - time to go and bring new style, fresh blood and some athleticism

I would trade anyone that is not JT for the right price (and some I will pay to get rid off)

So Brad needs to go when he’s regarded as one of the best GMs in the league and created a roster that won last year? It did happen. I know people don’t like acknowledging it but they won.

I did acknowledge
But imagine him getting a real coach. We can stare at 2-3 championships right now
He isn't flawless. We are in a tight spot with the 2nd apron, and this year is a failure by all means. A 2nd round exit of the biggest payroll ever

And even if Joe leaves, I am not confident in his coaches selection

Yep. That’s the NBA for you.

Can’t ever take things for granted.

We’ve been lucky as hell to be in the ECF 5 times since Tatum was drafted and essentially only had one ugly as season (2014) in the last decade.

Just hope we can patch things up and recover with a healthy Tatum back leading us again.

The crazy thing was the Knicks didn’t even play good in either of those games yet the Celtics played their worst basketball of the season in those 2 games. Disappointing this team blows home games like that just like they did against the Heat 2 years earlier. Joe Mazzulla is the coach of both of these rosters.

Look, I know it's been a tough two weeks on us all. But now is not the time for fighting words.
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
