Hopefully Al Horford is back next season but it's especially important now. Having another Spanish speaker on the roster would great ease Gonzalez transition to the NBA.

His worth is to another Team, at 39 you gotta give playing time to younger players for development purposes which might be tonight with 2nd round pick

Al signing with the Warriors would be like giving my soul a paper cut and pouring lemon juice on it.

Al is one of my favorite Celtics ever
Larry, Reggie, Paul, KG, Robert, Rajon, and Al

As much as I love him, and want him to retire in Kelly green, I want him to do what’s best for him and his family. His decision to make.

With Queta and Garza, we’re clearly set for — for — what are we doing, again?

Oh right: Amari Williams is my new favorite, clear the runway:)

It’s noon Eastern on Tuesday and he’s not yet signed

We shouldn’t overlook that JT routinely calls Al his favorite teammate to play with

In addition to considering his options and talking with his family, Al might be doing the gentlemanly thing and giving the Cs every hour they can get to trade Simons for less $ or Niang for nothing so they can make Al a competitive two year offer

I do have one caveat: Al signing with LAL would be painful, so I ask for any outcome but that

I really hope Al resigns on a cheaper contract with a backdoor deal that he joins the C's payroll in some way after his playing career is over. Please don't go Al.

Al should sign with Denver for another championship push
Then come back for his last year with the C's
Then sign a position in the C's organization. He is a Celtics and will continue to be a Celtics. There is no need for him to waste his last years here when we are not truly competing for a championship

Bill Simmons is adamant on his latest podcast Al will sign with The Warriors

It's sad but doesn't affect his legacy here any way in the slightest (least for me) and he will be always be a Celtics great and number retired here

Blame the current toxic CBA and cruel luxury tax laws rather than the owners.

It's absolute BS (Simmons also elaborated on this in his podcast)

Losing Al is heartbreaking but if this season is more about 26'-27' than the present playing a guy that is 39 probably makes little sense. He's one of my all time favorites and I'm grateful that he won a championship in Boston.

Love Al but his time here is up. I love that he was able to win his one and most likely only championship in Boston. Celtics legend.

If Al signs with the Lakers, he’s dead to me. *shrug*

Never. Al to lakers does nothing to his feelings in Boston. I don't think he wants to play in 2 years. It is either someone else for one last run or he retires.

Lakers or GSW make no sense for AL. They aren’t going anywhere.
I honestly think he retires.
Knicks or Cavs or back to the ATL make more sense.

Nah. I said what I said and I mean it. It goes for any former Celtic. I guess I’m old-school that way.

At first I assumed Houston would be the big threat for Al with their all in moves and the coach but then they stacked up a half dozen other front court guys :dontknow:

If JV goes back to Europe, why wouldnt Al just sign with the Nuggets?
Seems like everybody wins if Denver shifts the Valanciunus money over to Al
