He does have a good wingspan
Let’s put it to use defensively!
Enes but with only 60% of his rebounding.

didn’t know he was still in the league, from my understanding great college player that lot of his strengths don’t translate to the pros. eh

We're relying on other team's human victory cigar to play heavy minutes for us.
Brad what have you done my guy, we better get AJ Dybantsa out of this.

So does Baylor, Hugo, and the short white kid, and Niang, and Simons (just kidding with that last one:)
There are far worse things to prioritize in who you bring in.
Short white kid? You talkin' bout Payton that way?
You'd better not be talking about Mr. Shulga like that. He just measured 6'4.25" without shoes at the combine. That would be the same as Jrue White. An eighth of an inch less than Drake Maye and a quarter of an inch less than Derrick White.
Ha, my bad! I meant Shulga. Didn’t realize we were using the Patriots QB as a reference for people’s height now:)
I’m willing to believe in Shulga Magic
I want to believe
Lots of sway on that sweet jumper and he took half of his 3s from NBA distance last season LETTSS GOOO I’ll try to remember his name now

Re: Welcome to Boston, Luka Garza!
Wolves fan here.
Luka is a great 15th man. He's nothing but positive energy, he hypes up his teammates, he's always engaged and he never complains about not playing. When he does get into a game, he gives 100%.
As far as his game goes? He's a G-League superstar. Kid DOMINATES. But so far it hasn't translated as he's moved up.
He did have a game against Denver where all our bigs were out injured and he responded with a bunch of points. He also had a game against the Bulls where they hunted him so mercilessly on every possession, Finch had no choice but to pull him.
Offensively, he's shot 31% from 3 as a Pro. 28% the past 2 years. I don't think he is capable of getting the same looks against actual NBA players as he does G Leaguers. He doesn't really pass the ball and he's limited in the post.
Defensively, he's never met a rotation he couldn't miss. Not a shotblocker, not capable of switching. To his credit, he's busted his ass to get into way better shape, but he still has cement feet and very limited lateral movement.
My opinion is he could make a lot of money, lead a great life and be a star in Europe. I don't think he's in the rotation of a Playoff team.
But he's a great kid and I hope I'm wrong and you guys are able to unlock something that we couldn't over 4 years.

Tangentially related, but now I think Simons needs to get a LOB trophy tattoo.

Amazing reference
Wonder what Vitor Favorani is up to these days, is he ready for another go at being an NBA center?
(Sorry to do Hal’s work for him, but Vitor is only 37 and playing professionally in Brazil as of two years ago:)

Re: Welcome to Boston, Luka Garza!
As an Iowa grad and Timberwolves fan, I thought I’d come here and add a bit more insight. BlacJac beat me to it, but I wanted to add a little in case some BOS fans wanted to know more.
Born into a basketball family, they used a VCR to teach Luka every low post move of all the great NBA big men, starting at 8 years old. This allowed him to ridiculously dominate both in college and the G-League (36.7 PPG!), a place that could teach him nothing. In the NBA, he works ridiculously hard, and was always the first player off the bench to congratulate the starters after a good play. Great, unselfish teammate that is easily an NBA scorer.
Unfortunately for Garza, he lacks NBA athleticism - by a wide margin. He pushes himself, but he is not quick enough to defend anyone. Last off-season he was doing three-a-day workouts with his father and transformed his body to be lighter, but he was just born too slow for the NBA. It’s a tragedy for a good guy that works so hard, and I’ll miss him.
I would caution BOS fans who feel Garza was simply trapped behind MIN big men. Naz Reid is not a center. He is forced to play there, but after he transformed his body last year, he is more of a PF/SF than a PF/C. The Wolves only have one center on their entire roster, and back up center is a huge position of need - but they told Garza they weren’t going to bring him back.

Sweet thanks for that run down that's fascinating and tends to fit with what they do in Boston. He should be fine this year since there doesn't seem to be a real heavy impetus to compete.
On the other hand (and this is not me claiming Garza's suddenly going to be great, or even competent), but Boston's staff was able to do a ton with Luke Kornet who seemed just too oafish and squishy to be a legit center but he ended up being a really good back up here.
Come back and give more details in the future.

I will be rooting for him, so I hope you’re right. MIN drafting two project centers with their picks in this draft may have meant Garza wasn’t going to get third center minutes anyway. I hope BOS can help Luka have a long NBA career.
It’s interesting BOS went with both Garza and Minott, who seem like polar opposites to me.

So after he lays an egg here, he might change his name to Luka Freedom?
