Is Bassey eligible for a two way? I am guessing not.

No, 4 year vet.

I believe that if he really wanted to, he could petition for an extra year. Because he had 2 Season Ending Injuries.

Bassey is going to be signed by a NBA team and it won't be the Celtics. Signing Bassey to a vet min is equivalent to signing a $15 million player for the Celtics given their repeater tax situation. Celtics looking to reduce their payroll, not increase it.

Agree on him signing with an NBA Team.
Hopefully it's us; as we can us him.

I'm trying to think who else needs a backup big man. Maybe the Bulls if they finally trade Vucevic.

Maybe the Warriors if they aren't able to land Horford.

Maybe the Pacers, with Turner gone and Ijax coming off a torn achilles.

Other than that, idk.

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if he follows the path that many former Celtics backup bigs and former Celtics summer league bigs (Jerebko, Poirier, Bruno Fernando, Balcerowski, Trevion Williams, Kabengele, Ojeleye, etc.) have made and go play overseas somewhere..rather than bouncing around from team to team, and fighting just to get a roster spot as a 14th/15th man and ride the bench most of the time.

Heard Theis might be headed overseas now as well.

All the rest can go
Especially Shulga which you can find on any European team like a dime a dozen. Wasted trade and wasted pick

Thats it for me.

I hear all of you.
Minott though, I don't see as anyone spectacular.

So for Training Camp (of this list), I'd go with Gonzalez, Bassey, Lofton, Williams, Shulga, Norris & Tillman.

I think that Tillman was just hampered all year by that offseason surgery.
I'd give him 'til the end of TC, to prove that he can still be an asset.

Agree
But I don't get what everybody sees in Shulga and why keep him over other players. He isn't special. I think Jay Scrubb is better, even after the injury he suffered.
If Bridges would agree to a two-way (and is still eligible), I would sign him over Shulga

Interesting comparison. Scrubb was such an offensive heat check guy, could get his own shot, whereas Shulga didn't show anything in that regard. Shulga seems more pass first, and that might work in his favor.

I'll wait to see the pro game slow down a bit for Shulga. I'd give him an 'incomplete' for summer league. It was easy to forget that he was out there at times, but that may have been partially by design. He had enough assists and defensive awareness, but didn't look comfortable with the pro-level pressure.

In an interview, Shulga's coach seemed to be aware of and sensitive to Brad's comments about role players adjusting better to roles in the NBA, because he went out of his way to point out that Shulga had started out as that, before becoming a primary player and so was comfortable with that and understood how he needed to come in without trying to do too much to start as a pro. So I wouldn't take him not being super aggressive with his shot while playing point in the SL as anything of concern.

It is not the aggressiveness or offensive game. He seems unaware at times on offense and his 1 on 1 defense is not there at all. Some really dumb TOs also. It is as if you plugged a guy off the street to play with our team.
If you a role player - you should excel at least in one aspect (defense, shooting, distributing, rebounding etc). Nothing there with him

If Scrubb never got injured he'd have a contract with the C's. I'd bet anything on that. Shame what happened because he would have brought a different element to the bench IMO.

After the injury he didn't look the same at all.

I'd put Scrubb in the same Stevens scouting category as Hauser and Neems. Stevens does have an eye for guys with upside other teams can't keep around.

I don't see the Shulga comparison though.

If Shulga gets a two-way I’m guessing it’ll be because they don’t want to irritate his agent by going back on their draft night promise. But the guy just does so little out there.

No comparison to Scrubb. They just play the same position. Both are 6"4. Obviously they style is different

Through 4 games he has a 4.3/0.8 asst/TO ratio, so he can't have committed too many dumb TOs.
