Should we look at any NBDL guys

Randy Livingston has pretty good numbers.

PPG 16.4 APG 11.1 RPG 4.0

I know he is old, but he seems to be the class of the DLeague.

Maybe a 10 day contract to some PG while Rondo heals up if they don't feel Gabe Pruitt is ready.

Could be an idea. This just reminds me of that year Pitino's big signing was Randy Brown. I remember laughing my ass off when my local paper had Brown holding up his Jersey on the front of the sports page like we just signed someone who mattered. HAHAHAHAHAAH

I'd rather sign a point guard that has done something in the NBA. Livingston must not be that good if he still can't find a spot in the league at 32 yrs old.

I always liked Andre Barrett, he's a good floor leader. Someone who might help quite a bit off the bench.

Livingston is good enough that he could have been a star, imo. He blew out his knees and it zapped a lot of his athleticism. Each time he gets a cup of coffee, he does pretty well, all things considered.

He has good size, can run the point and won't embarrass himself. In fact, someone like him would be great (assuming there will be no Gabe in '08.)

I liked that point guard who gave Rondo a hard time during the summer league. I think he was with the San Antonio squad. I believe he went to Tennessee. I couldn't remember his name.

Don't forget he was the top player coming out of high school before 3 ACL injuries destroyed his athleticism. He was an explosive big PG. He is playing pro hoops on nothing more than skill. I always liked his skill level, its a shame that injuries destroyed what would have been an all-star type player.

i also suggested him on the "we need a point guard" thread. i really like what he could bring to our team. he's a big pg who can pass and bring up the ball well. he also has the body to defend other pg's who are big. i'd say we get him. a very good target FA at this point.

I thought the Celtics want to win the championship right now? You have maybe a 1-3 year window of getting it done, so getting a backup PG from the minor leagues at this point is not even an option. No team wins with a PG without championship experience, even if they were only given spot minutes as a backup.

Rod Benson. solid athletic big guy, hustle player, great personality. A good backup big to wheel out and grab a couple of boards, swat some shots while commiting some fouls and resting the other guys. Shoots great %, too., and could be had for the minimum.

I do think we need to bring a PG that has some years under his belt.

Pruitt maybe good, but we can't take the time to let him learn out there. Last year I would have said give him tons of minutes, but this year is too important to risk on a rookie.

Our window is only so big to get a championship before the big 3 start to decline.

High school was a long time ago. There must be a reason he hasn't stayed in the league. If he really showed something he would get more then a 10 day contract. I'd rather see Pruitt, House or a veteran signing get minutes in Rondo's absence.

i wouldnt mind brining in livingston to be a 3rd string pg for insurance.

id also look at the young bigs out there in the dl to give a shot.
lance allred has been leading the league in double-doubles. he might be worth a ten-day. i thought he played decent in summer league.

Honestly I don't understand why we didn't sign some ball-handling wizard to a 10 day contract just to help out when we see that pressure D. It's kind of strange. It's not like there is a shortage of them out there. Plenty of guys in the D league can bring the ball up against NBA pressure..

^ I agree completely. I' sure there are a couple of NBDL type guys who have gotten NBA experience before that wouldn't kill us if we brought them in. I believe Barrett had a couple of shots in the NBA before so he might be ready to fulfill a small role.
