OT:Andrew Bogut
I have been lookin at his stats and he has progressed every year and really seem to start garnishing theat number 1 pick. Big men usually take a few years to develop and he is starting to get it. I would love to see him and KG paired up down low. NEVER will happen though.

Sorry, but when you've got a player as special as Chris Paul, you're never going to be able to justify Andrew Bogut at #1. He has not proven to be anything special, and he hasn't made any great strides through his first few years. If that draft was done in hindsight now, there would have to be at least a few guys picked ahead of Bogut. Even if they were steadfast in picking a center at #1, I would go with Bynum over Bogut. He's showed much more improvement and is 3 years younger.

Bogut is a much better passer. I don't think his defense is anything special though (unless you consider flopping a skill). The difference is, Bynum has the chance of being a dominant center in this league, which is what you want if you using a #1 pick. Boguy will never be more than just a very solid player. If you're passing up on a future HOFer like Chris Paul, you better get something special for it, and Bogut is not that.

Isn't hindsight great. The Lakers got a lot of heat for taking Bynum as high as they did while the Bucks did the smart thing taking a 21 year old seven footer who averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds and shot 60 plus % from the field and won numerous awards as one of the top players in college basketball.
I would take Bogut on the Celtics in a second, less than a second... a nano second.
Plus he is a good Aussie boy

Still too early to tell with Bogut. It's similar to the Giants fascination with Eli Manning over Roethlisberger and Rivers. If Manning/Bogut come into their own, the Giants/ Bucks may not regret their pick. That isn't to say that Paul and Williams will not be All Stars the next ten years, but if Bogut becomes a perennial All Star I'm sure th Bucks won't be disappointed. Bogut has not reached the status that the guards have, but big men rarely do as quickly.

While Bynum was playing well before he got hurt he has a long way to go to be a complete NBA player though he is plenty talented. Bogut has plenty of size and athletic ability to go with a much more skilled package.
Bynum will likely be a more powerful player and the better scorer, but I still see Bogut as a better total package and a player that will win more. It is the misleading thing about Shaq as a great an offensive force as he was when he was a champion it usually came from his ability to quaterback the offense from the post and anchor the defense, though throwing down 30 didn't hurt.
Now the Bucks need to get a handle on what is going on with that team. They have two super talented big men who are young and actually compliment each other offensively and should improve defensively. But Redd has got to go. Mo Williams does the same exact thing, maybe even better as well as giving you 7 dimes a game. There are plenty of teams that need a feature shoooter like Redd it just isn't the Bucks. They need a slasher who can distribute the ball. It sounds a little crazy at first but a Redd for Agent 0 would make a lot of sense for both teams.
As a C's fan I don't need to see that trade I would be just as happy for Redd to stay and make the Bucks hapless and Agent 0 to screw up the mojo they have in Washington.

Actually, Bogut has been coming into his own of late, I've got him in my fantasy league and he's really stepped it up over the last month or so, including blocked shots. Still have to take Bynum though, to be performing like he has at his age is pretty special, he'd be up there on my building blocks for a young team list. To say he is just living off of Kobe is ridiculous, Kobe doesn't get him defensive rebounds or blocked shots, both of which he has been excellent at. Sure, everybody benefits offensively from the focus Kobe gets, but Bynum has become the second option on the Lakers, he's not exactly getting ignored. It's a shame he's not going to be back in much of a game shape till about the playoffs, even if he is a Laker.

I'm sorry but Rivers?!?! Eli is better than Rivers, Philip is an overrated prick who is surrounded by talent he can't do much with. Comparing Eli-Rivers situation to Bogut-Williams is ridiculous.

Ok, but would you still take him over CP if you had the choice?
To me, there are pro's and cons between either Bogut or Bynum but you throw CP into the equation and it becomes a no brainer.

Bynum over Bogut would take time to decide
CP3 or Deron over Bogut is def a no brainer

You can't look at the Bucks drafting Bogut over Paul with hindsight only. Even at that Paul is always going to be undersized and a defensive liability, and before you disregard that keep in mind that for all of his fantastic play and MVP awards Steve Nash hasn't won a ring and part of it has been his defensive weakness.
But the Bucks had both Ford and Mo Williams, PG wasn't and isn't an issue for them.
I think most would take a top 5 center over a top 5 pg, and Bogut is better defensively than Paul. Now Bogut isn't a top 5 center yet but he has put up 18/10 for the past month or so and this is about the point that Jefferson became that type of player last season. Clearly Paul has done a better job of taking his team from crappy to good than Bogut has but I think that he will have an easier time taking his team from good to great when and if they get there.
