Any word on KG? That is a little weird all around, I can't say I was paying that much attention but he wasn't on the bench the whole game right?
Rumor has it he was so POd at Rivers, he refused to come out of the locker room for the game. He wanted to play. Marc Spears said he might be out for Tuesday's game as well.

I agree 100%. January wins mean little to me when they still have the best record in the NBA by quite a bit.
We are playing the Mavs on Friday, right?? Any other team, I would give KG the whole week off, if I were the coach...and play him as little as possible at the All Star Game.

Doc won't play him at all if his abdominal area is still hurting and I don't think KG will care. KG is in it for the big prize.

Howard doesn't have tons of moves, but what moves does he need to have when he's getting results like he is. You can say it's just stats all you want, but the actual plays he makes that you see when watching the games is what leads to those stats. It's not like they're made up. To back you up though Sprash, I will say you never see a play ran for Howard when they NEED a basket. Look at today's game for example. Hedo dribble around for a desperation 3 instead of anythign inside and they had plenty of time to go in there. I know he isn't a good free throw shooter, but still...
Hedo is no scrub either, and I'm not sure how you could say he is. It was a lucky ass shot though.

His effective field goal % sans dunks is 45%... Someone pointed it out earlier. Not so great for a low post guy. Anyway, I still haven;t found people who prove me wrong other than making personal attacks...whatever...
Not so great for a low post guy?
Who are low post guys? Al Jefferson? Yao?
Yao's efg w/o dunks: 44.34%
Jefferson's: 45.19%

Surround Dwight with shooters, have him set a pick, and then bull his way under the basket for great position. Everyone else is covered tight so they inbound straight to him and he's one on one with a guy 3 feet from the basket for a layup or dunk.
It's a play we've ran several times this season when we've needed points.

i agree hedo isnt a scrub, but you cant lie that the shot was simply luck
I've seen Pierce hit a few of those, one against the Magic last year. Nobody here said it was luck then. Hedo was not that off balanced on the shot, got his shoulders squared, and the form was good. Anyone who has watched him much has seen him hit shots like that not infrequently. He has tremendous range on his jumper.

That was a low percentage shot, Hedo is a very good shooter, but if he took that shot guarded the same way 10 times he would make 2-3 out of 10, it was a low percentage shot and exactly the type of shot we wanted him to take. Hats off to him for making it, but it was pretty lucky, he was pretty off balance and falling away. There is absolutly skill involved in his making it, a lesser shooter might not make that shot 1 in 10 times taking it while gaurded, but it was still a pretty lucky shot, I dont really think your suggesting that he makes that shot more then half the time, hes a good shooter but how a ball bounces on in individual shot even from the best shooters is sometimes luck.
"Said Orlando coach Stan Van Gundy: "They didn't have Kevin Garnett and we hit a miracle shot at the end. It was enough to win." http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball ... nched_out/
I think we can safley say anyone who got a miracle was lucky

Hedo Turkoglu is one of the most underrated players in the league, period. He's get tremendous size for a 3, is reasonably quick, he has solid ballhandling skills, he drives the lane, he can stick the outside shot, and he hits his free throws. Defensively he's no great shakes but he has decent ability. IMO, he's a better player than Rashard Lewis and they're very similar... which makes the Lewis signing (at that amount) all the more silly.

+1
People around here are not giving Hedo enough credit. He might not be an All Start but he is playing like one this year. The boy can flat out shoot and I'd say he's having his best season ever. That shot was not a fluke and I knew it was going down as soon as he released it.
The Magic beat us at the buzzer in a game where we were missing the best PF in the NBA. I'll take that.

So you had an alley opp off an in bounds play.
Look he scores how he is but what there looking for is a straight up one on one running hook FTW. Or spin off his man then pass the ball out of the help defense coming to give a teammate an open shot.. create for his teammate with passing.
D-12 gets it done in other ways but what there looking for is not one of them.

you are joking right ? there was nothing square about his shoulders on that shot. he is a good shooter, shooting a prayer shot and it went in. off balance too and out.
yes pierce has hit lucky shots. so what.
but please dont make it like he shot it like he knew it was going to go in.

great shot though.

I wasn't really referring to the alley oop inbounds play. I was talking about the several times this season that the scenario I described above happened.
It happened in our game against Cleveland to tie the game with 4 seconds left to send it to OT.
In OT, Dwight then did it again to win the game with 6 seconds left.
