Road Games in HD

Post#1 » by canman1971 » Thu Jan 24, 2008 2:37 pm

This was in another thread, but I figured I would start one for those who wouldn't see it as it is quite important for us HD maniacs. Who-rod, who knows someone who works for Comcast Sports, said the Miami game next week will be the first road game broadcast in HD. And assuming he is correct, all I have to say is "thank god and finally."

I hope that also means all of the road games will from then on be in HD. I hope this isn't just gonna be a once in a while thing whenever they feel like it. So does anyone know if all the games will continue to be on channel 881, or is Comcast Sportsnet going to do the unthinkable and acutally have it's own HD channel?

That is great news. Hopefully RCN will get that broadcast.

Finally. The picture is beyond awful on my TV.

Hey, what kind of TV do you guys watch the game on?

I have a 42" Samsung HDTV DLP.

i have a 50" rca dlp, and for road games i watch on a smaller tv in another room. watching non-hd Cs games on a 50" is like trying to blowup a polaroid picture into a poster-sized print.

Tony, what I noticed that helps a little is set you screen to 4:3. (I am assuming of course it is set to 16:9) It makes the picture less distorted.

Yeah the stretch image isn't very kind to Big Baby, though it does do wonders for Rondo.

Thank Christ...

60" Panasonic, 32" Sony Bravia and 26" Polaroid. Depending on what room I'm in. Usually the 60" though.

Lets put the drama and maybes to rest. Tuesdays game AT Miami WILL BE in HD. No I do not have an insider at Comcast, but I do have a remote control. That being said. I just scrolled over until I got to next Tuesday at 7:30, checked channel 881 and sure enough it says:

HD, Boston at Miami.

There is it folks. Comcast has officially stepped their game up!

I'm with Dishnetwork so I get zero games in HD. I have to wait for Boston to play on TNT and ESPN...I CAnt WAIT!

I have a 40 inch Samsung LCD...I love LCD's no glare! Bright picture. My TV when I bought it online was 2000 g's in store and 1400 online. Buy those TV's online fellas.

Just so you know, I believe that is the NBATV feed. If you look at the online tv planner, there is a 881 that has comcast sports and that says off air.

I think everyone might be getting their hopes up, because I checked the celtic website under the schedule and only certain road games are listed in HD. Now here's the deal I don'y know if it hasn't been updated, but i would imagine by the the end of the Allstar break that they would have switched over to HD or atleast I hope. That is All

Yeah, this looks to be the same situation as the MLK Day game against the Knicks. It was available in HD on channel 881, but was blacked out by Comcast, forcing us to watch yet another road game, as my futile squinting at the tv like my eyes are the problem make me even angrier at the ridiculous amount of money I spend on cable each month.

No need to be sorry. I figured they are working on it and possibly had the Miami game as a target date, but realized that it might not work out just yet. There is also a Miami road game down the road in March or something, maybe he meant that.
