We are down in size and have two open roster spots...
what about old friend Brandon Wallace?
Even though he isn't too bulky he played center throughout college and could certainly give us some rebounding and shot blocking. While Powe and baby aren't terrible defenders, Wallace will bother alot more shots than both.

Brandon Wallace was more of a longer term project - a guy who might eventually take on a James Posey role. The Celtics need more bulk and height that Scott Pollard was supposed to provide.
It is hard to envision why Wallace was let go, and leaving two available roster spots, without having a plan to fill them. I believe that Ainge is waiting until the last possible moment, or when someone he absolutely wants becomes available. The two most talked about positions are C/PF and backup PG. So I think Ainge is waiting for something better than say Olowakandi and Payton to materialize. If somebody better pops up he will take him/them. If not I believe he will fill the roster with the best veteran players (i.e Payton, Travis Best etc.) and move forward. So I really don't think Wallace is in the plans.
We'll even see if Cassell fits the bill if he becomes available. Cassell said all the right things except "it's not important who starts, but who finishes." The Celtics did not sign Damon Stoudemire, partly because of chemistry. Has Cassell simply said he would do whatever was needed to play on another championship, he might have made things easier. The Celtics have no problems letting people get DNP's and then play them 20 minutes the next night. All of the bench players with the exception of Posey and House have done that. The goal is winning a championship - not worrying who the point guard is in the last two minutes.
