I think you guys really understimate how much Doc likes TA. Ainge might be more lukewarm on him but Doc loves him, IMHO.

for that matter, Paul Pierce loves him, and now, in the middle of this incredible season, we are not trading anybody that Paul loves.

Paul has always loved the guys that are like him: i.e. tough has all hell. there is a reason, he gravitates to tony, perk, powe(r), posey and of course KG.

we aren't trading the cap'n's binky. forgetaboutit.

Ainge doesn't have any "white" agenda but he does buy into stereotypes. And the stereotypes are that whites are 'character" guys that do "little things" that help teams win and shoot well. Those were the stated reasons behind the acquistion of Scalabrine, Wally and Raef. All three of those acquisitions were dramatic failures..

Ainge IMHO is a better judge of african american talent because he doesn't bring those preconvied stereotypes to the table with regards to judging them..

His evaluation of both Pierce and Walker was right on the money and those evaluations have in the long term sent our franchise in the right direction..

Scal not that bad? Compared to guys like Powe and BBD who make a fraction of what he does and produce more it's among the worst of his moves.

Danny's all time worst moves -

Raef Welsch for Walker trade (yes bad when you compare what Dallas got for Walker)
Wally for Davis (Wally was so hated we had to dump he before we acquired Garnett).
Scalabrine for 3million.
Dan Dickau (i forget how we got that scrub).

Some of his best moves..

KG trade
Keeping Pierce
Mike James for a million
Wally and West for Ray Allen.
Drafting - Powe, Gomes, BBD, TA. Al and more..

See a trend there - I do. Ainge seems to be better at judging african american players, IMHO. Maybe he will reverse this trend and acquire David Lee for a song or something. But until then...i haven't been impressed with any of the white players he has acquired.

Of course in fairness to Ainge let's be real here - except for a few Europeans there aren't alot of great white players around anymore.. Ainge however needs to be aware of that. He should send a memo to Bird..as well.

the Van Horn sign & trade

Post#27 » by Andrew McCeltic » Wed Feb 20, 2008 4:30 am

dallas re-signed van horn, 1-year guaranteed, and traded him to New Jersey

there were rumors that the bulls would do the same thing with p.j. brown, but nothing came of it

now that the precedent has been set, our own cast-off Kandi has a chance to help us to title 17.

package Kandi w/ Ta and/or a 1st and/or Davis-Powe

how about Kandi for kurt thomas and earl watson

or kandi for artest & brad miller?

are trades like this remotely possible?
