Hmm. Didn't see this thread when I started my own.

Good wishes to him. Glad he's on "Cloud 9".

The offensive scheme there should suit him. So, frankly, should having a shotblocker on defense.

And let the TMac comparisons restart.

w/T-Mac's injury pattern, Green could end up getting lots of minutes over the remaining 30 games of the reg. season....

Looking forward to this. Killed me to see GMoney ride the bench all year, I have a feeling this is a turning point in Geralds Career.

Agreed, Gerald has not had alot on the roster with him when he started not to mention he has always had a PG in bassey that can't play D ither.

I like Gerald, and to know he was available for a 2nd round pick and Danny never tried to get him back is pethetic.

Wishes the best to G-Money, would of been nice to of had him return.

DA must know something we don't. Maybe the kid isn't going to be that good. I like Gmoney's game, but I just don't see how he fits with our current team. Coming off the bench we have Eddie House, Posey and TA. Where does he fit in there?

On the one hand Houston doesn't seem to be in the mode to developing guys, on the other hand they were playing a lot of they young guys against the heat last night so maybe he will get a chance.

As hard as Gerald worked when he was here.. he'll be working twice as hard to stay in Houston.. eventually, he'll earn some playing time.

The Celtics can't trade for Gerald this season, pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement. Teams can't acquire players via trade that they've traded within the same league year. Since Gerald was traded during this league year, the Celtics were absolutely forbidden from trading for him.

I like Gerald and I think he is a player who deserves a shot but whose mins is taking in Boston right now?

I'm happy for Gerald... hopefully he'll get some minutes playing in his hometown.

It reminds me so much of Kedrick Brown - this time when he went to Philly. If you can't get burn on the Wolves - it's going to be brutally hard on the decent Rockets..

you have to remember that both randy whittman and kevin mchale both can screw up a wet dream. They totallyblew having gg on the squad. And frankly i would rather have gg than brewer on the squad. Look at what gg did for you guys last year. When the kg trade went down I thought that gg was one of the bright spots! But cmon the kid has houston tatooed on his forearm. The kid could end up like tmac or vince or kobe. I was pist he didn't get any burn in mn, I aM HIGH ON THE KIDS GAME

A few clarifications on the whole "he couldn't get playing time in Minny so he sucks"

-Minny declined his player option, which was in part a reflection on his game, but largely a reflection on their financial situation.
-Once his option was declined, Minnesota had nearly no incentive to play him. It was more productive for them to play Walker and Buckner to try and shop them, than it was to play a soon to be UFA Green.

Basically, he was **** from the moment his option got declined. He won't get time in Houston either this year, but they want to see what he can do in practice, bring him along developmentally, and at least have intentions of potentially bringing him back next year (which is why Gerald wanted out of Minny, not playing time alone, but because he knew he had no future there).

It reminds me so much of Kedrick Brown - this time when he went to Philly. If you can't get burn on the Wolves - it's going to be brutally hard on the decent Rockets..

Pete, every time you mention Kedrick Brown in the same sentence as Gerald Green, I'm going to mention the term "work ethic." I'm sure you're used to it by now, but it doesn't seem to be getting through..

Thanks Roy, that makes me feel better. I really believe what has happened has been good for G-Money, he may even learn now that he needs to keep his family out of his career.

I've never been impressed with G$'s BB IQ. He can score, he can dunk, but it's all sort of a one on one game with him. To me a real indictment of high school ballers vs a few college years.

Seems like a nice kid, though.

Jokes aside G-money has Tools, and just as Cfan stated in a joke I hear Geralds dad likes to run his career.

I know Gerald isn't a starter I never said he was however I do believe there may be someone on this team that can help him now.

There are alot of things here that are differant from when G-money was here. Even The Truth wanted out and was hated on bye many fans and it was said that Paul may have even lost his game.

Gerald has tools and I also think there were alot of players here lacking defense around here the time he was here.

The kid is bad to get beat 1 on 1 but he is still young I might add and he has tools that any coach that knows defense can see I believe there has to be someone that can get through to Gerald and if the C's could aquire him again he may listen to his coaches rather than his dad the 2nd go around..

I may not bet on a longshot however if you consider Gerald a longshot I consider him a longshot with a very long headstart.

I believe he has to realize if he doesn't listen to his coaches now and get in the gym he could be playing street ball for money in a couple years.

I suppose I still have a man crush on G-money and I also feel that Ray Allen could help G-money along while also having the Big Ticket preaching defense.

Gerald's value is lower than it ever has been. The Celtics ORG. would be stupid not to pursue Gerald in the off season if they have a chance.
