Pierce has been playing like he's had the flu the past couple games

I'm not criticizing his defense, which to his credit he's given good effort all season. But in the half court, his 0 FTAs had nothing to do with the refs not giving him calls. He was happy taking jumpers all night when he got the ball. And standing or walking around on the perimeter with his hands on his hips when he didn't.

He at least had two at the end of the game. And to be honest, almost nobody got to the line last night, for either team.

That's right, it was zero until the late game fouling began. But if you're suggesting that I'm holding Pierce to different standards, you're correct. Drawing contact and getting to the charity stripe is a large part of the "power game" that sets the man apart from average players and why he's an all-star. It's why you look past the plodding style he has offensively because you appreciate that he's looking to set up that long, purposeful, first step that gets him propelled to the basket and to the free throw line frequently, making him a proficient scorer and one who you can ride in end of game situations.

The Celts already have the gunner spot pretty well taken care of with Ray Allen, why do they need two of them? So, when I estimate that Paul has these games once out of every 4, I get a little irked by it. I'm hoping that he's saving gas for the playoffs. Again, I appreciate the additional effort he's putting into his defense, but, this team is going to need to ride him in the 4th quarter of games to push them deep into the playoffs.

No I wasn't suggesting that at all. I was just saying it wasn't really a physical, get-to-the-line kinda game.

To be honest, I was there, and it was the most boring of the year.
