If Celtics lose in 1st or 2nd round, will Doc be fired?

After we get Cassell and Brown worked into the rotation, we have an amazing team. We are deep at every position and will probably have home court throughout the playoffs. Doc has said he doesnt care about our record, so basically hes saying home court isnt important in the playoffs.....yeah right. If this team is fully healthy and loses in the 1st or 2nd round will Danny Ainge send Doc packing? I am curious to hear everyones thoughts.

well, it depends on how he coaches in the playoffs I would imagine.

This year, barring any massive brain explosions, he will probably be ok if we go early against a good team.

Early exit next year as well? Gone.

It is also a question of who is avalible.

I also think that a new coach wouldn't change things. This team, kind of coaches itself in a way. Doc is ready to delegate, and I respect him for that.

I just wonder how much impact a new coach would have. Let's say Rick Adelman would be hired. How would the big three take that?

I'm not sure how the big three will react to a new coach. I think they like Doc (KG in particular had only nice things to say about Doc in one of his interviews this season).

No, I think Danny is a true supporter of Doc and barring a first round exit by sweep, no chance he leaves.

I doubt it. I'm a little worried about Philly and Washington and even the nets though. I'd rather not play really athletic teams. I think we will beat them but I also think they might give us more trouble than we expect similar to GS and dallas last year.

Hes just asking a simple question no need to lock, and no as much as Id love to see him fired hed be around for atleast another season if somehow we lose in the early rounds.

If we lose a 7 game series to a team that is 5-10 games under .500 in the first round firing Doc will be the least of the concerns that building might burn. Outside of the loss to CHA have we lost one game to these teams all year?

The 2nd round is a different senario. We haven't played well against ORL and CLE made the finals last season and they have a mutant on their team.

I don't think we would lose to either of those teams but it isn't like going undefeated through the regular season and playoffs and losing to the **** Giants in the Super Bowl!

We lost to Washington twice. My concern is that we seem vulnerable to younger more athletic players. Many of Rondo's, Pierce, Ray's worse games have come against the superquick and athletic types.

I almost feel like we match up better against most of the Western teams. I haven't felt like we have lost too many games due to our size to be honest.

If we gets knocked out in the first round, yes, he should be fired. However, if we run into Cleveland in the 2nd round and Lebron goes nuts, there really isn't much you can do. So probably not.

The Wizards are 6th seed and Philly runs them down it is likely because either Butler or Arenas or both don't make it back.

I can't do individual matchups for you, I don't really follow who you are talking about the Hawks are pretty superquick and athletic. I have to check but a lot of the losses this team has had are of the fools gold variety. Obviously we just played like crap on the West Coast trip, but at least one of those two Wash losses, the Raps loss, the DET loss come to mind as games were the opponent was just gunning from 3 and hitting. That will play itself out over a 7 game series.

It's going to take a really, really strong effort to knock KG and co. out of the playoffs in a 7 game series. I think Doc and the coaching staff have proven they have the ability to make adjustments on the fly throughout the season thus far. Mostly our success in the playoffs will be based on health, how the team is playing, momentum, and matchups. The Celtics, IMO, are the team to beat because they're the best. I'm not worried about the bottom feeders, Cleveland, Orlando, and Detroit are the only teams with enough firepower to really beat a healthy Celtics team 4 times over 7 games.
