Cassell was traded in the 1996 off-season to Phoenix as part of the Barkley deal. But only some months later (in December 1996), he was sent to Dallas as part of the Kidd trade.

I see Cassell being used similarly to how he was used in his 2 championship seasons with Houston. Kenny Smith started and got the bulk of the minutes, but Sam I am was in there mostly at the end of the games.

sam will be a spot player for us. danny wouldn't have brought him in if he didn't think it would work. I like P vescey but he has a highly inflated opinion of his basketball knowledge

Sam will be valuable at the end of games when you want your point guard penetrating and getting to the line. The only time I'd be happy to see Sam playing instead of Rondo is when the point guard must make free throws.

You know why Rondo plays a lot of minutes and is considered the PG of the future even though he can't shoot? .

.

You know, you watch Rajon shoot and about 1/3 of the time he follows through nicely and has a nice arch on the ball and its a good shot, there's rotation and everything. The other times, he just releases the ball, like a JV kid or something, it pops out of his hands, WTH?

In the paint, against the Hawks, he wasn't not even attempting to finish his layups, just throwing it up there like a friggin' prayer, maybe afraid of Smith, I hope or guess.

Needed: More time shooting with Ray Allen in practice time.
