Look, i'm a nit picker, and not only do i enjoy house's contributions, but i'd go so far as to say, that we got very lucky with the signing, but i want to point out a few observations.
1. While House has a great outside shot, he is not a good shooter inside the arc.
2. He is very very sub-par on defense. How many times did Williams blow past him last night, getting our bigs in foul trouble.
3. Despite getting descent #'s in that department he is by far, not a good play maker or decision maker.
4. Doesn't have the handle to beat opponents, down court, or even go against pressure, Detroit is an example.
I was yelling at Doc to let Rondo back in, strictly for defensive purposes last night. I do understand, however, that Doc wanted to stretch the offense.

Although some blame should go to the players too, I thought Doc coached horribly last night. Perk on the bench for most of the 4th quarter when he was the only Celtic playing well and keeping the team in the game? What an idiot! I don't mind Rondo not being in the game because he wasn't doing much either except missing layups, but where was the vet Cassell? I think Doc has too many options than he knows what to do with.
I think we will be in trouble come playoff time. Doc is a career choker in the playoffs and his coaching in last night's game is a prime example of the type of coaching he "sometimes" does in big games.
As for House, I agree with you. I would have liked to see Cassell in last night's game. He can spread the defense just as well, but can also set up the offense. Wouldn't hurt to have savy vet on the floor either, especially since both Rondo and House weren't getting it done.

There wasn't anyone getting it done last night. You can't point the finger at one player the way the whole team played. We were on a ten game win streak, we were in line for this type of game. You have to give Utah credit for their play, they were on top of their game.
As for House I have no problem with him. As Tommy stated last night, that House has been doing a nice job of keeping his guy between his legs on defense and doing an adequate job. Cassell couldn't help last night, he needs more time to get acclimated to this team.
As for Doc, do you think he was seeing what certain guys can do against a good team who wanted redemption on us? It was like Utah was playing for a purpose and it was as close to a playoff game you can get without it actually being one. I think Doc wanted to see if some of the bench players could respond to this type of game.

I didn`t mind that House was in instead of Rondo. Rajon was terrible on offense and defense.
But I don`t understand why Cassell didn`t get a chance. It is not like he would be a big downgrade defensively in comparison to Rondo or House yesterday.
I had a feeling we could have played for two more days and still wouldn`t win. We needed something different, so why Sam sat on the bench the whole game is a mystery to me.
Of course, Perk didn`t get enough minutes. He was the only one who was good in the first half. Obviously Rivers thought Davis was a better matchup for Okur with KG on Boozer but I think we need to play our game and let others adjust to us.

No, Perkins was playing great when he was in, as was Allen. But then Allen got hurt, and Doc continued his mysterious* policy of playing Posey and House over Perk and Rondo at crucial moments down the stretch.
*I chose the word "mysterious" because, given the team's record, I think Doc deserves the benefit of the doubt. So until we start losing, Doc's more unorthodox coaching strategies will continue to be labeled with words like mysterious/unusual/interesting/etc. The only exceptions to this rule will be if he does things that are stupid beyond any doubt, like playing Scals double-digit minutes for any reason other than injury to another big.
