I think we're arguing the same point using different angles. My only contention that's different is that it's not necessary for the layup for him to do the behind the back move, therefore it's above and beyond, therefore it's flashy. You highlighted unnecessarily, and frankly, he could accomplish the same play with a far less risky fake, but it wouldn't be nearly as entertaining. Therefore it's not necessary, but if everything stopped at necessity, the game would be much more boring.

I had a huge wall of text written, but frankly none of it matters and it'll just turn into another circular set of posts that I probably won't even get to before I leave work for the day.
