Anyone else fustrated by the home losses this season?
I am. I feel that the Celtics lost to Detroit and Utah and not to Charlotte, Washington, Toronto and Philadelphia. That's how appalled I'm that they'd lost to those particular teams. It's as if Boston donated them those games out of goodwill or due in part to boredom from winning so many games already. Joking aside, I don't get bothered as much when the Celtics are defeated on the road. I feel that if you're a strong team then you win the games you're suppose to win and the games that you lose are typically to teams that you're expected to have difficulty against on the schedule. If you should win anyone of those games. Then it was unexpected. But, playing against a lesser team on the schedule. It's expected for you to win. If you fail... Then you effed up, I would say. Turnovers will be the death of the Celtics. Oh, that and poor team shooting. If you managed to win in spite of this. Then you basically dodged a bullet. Again, home games are about territory. Your territory. Those games are regular season and playoffs games you've to defend no matter what. You don't lose anyone of them if you can help it. San Antonio and Utah rarely lose at home. That's something... And I'm not referring to this season alone. I believe both franchises historically gave up fewer losses at home in the pass ten or fifteen seasons. This might be something I'll have to confirm. But, they'd players like Robinson Elliot, Stockton and Malone who were the catalyst for their success for years. That's good reason to assume such, if I'm wrong.
Granted at this point they're merely six home losses when compared to twenty-nine current wins. I understand that. Still... Damn. In Boston's defense, all but the Bobcats are playoff bound teams. But, Boston lead both Toronto and Philadelphia three games to nil before losing the fourth meeting at home. Perhaps, the Charlotte and Washington defeats were more a collapse. And the Detroit lost was a game that was a basket miss away by the visiting team from overtime. So, it could've gone either way for for either team. Not sure what happened in the Utah game since I didn't see it.

This is why the national media will continue to raise questions about Boston this season. When you've letdowns at home. You aren't a dominate team. You can't look pass no one team. I mean it isn't like the Celtics don't have anything left to play for. There's still home court throughout the playoffs not yet gain.

Celtics have:
Best record in the league
Best road record in the league
Best division record in the league
Best conference record in the league
Best record against the opposing conference in the league
SECOND best home record in the league
What a catastrophe!!!!

The national media will continue to raise questions about Boston until #17 is hanging from the rafters, whether we have zero or ten home losses. That's just how it goes. If we win a championship or 2 in a short span they'll start giving us the benefit of the doubt, til then we are going to be media fodder like everyone except the Lakers. Why that works that way, I've no idea.

Actually it is better to lose to bad teams than good teams at home when elite. As long as the losses are a minimum (like 6 and under). Bulls in 1996 lost twice at home (one to Charlotte and one to Indiana) however neither were elite teams. Celtics in '86 lost once at home to Portland who was barely .500. Losing at home to elite teams when you are a contender is what should frustrate a fan. Sometimes good teams don't get motivated to play teams that are not elite.

That's unfortunate like the ignorant and indifferent responses that my thread attracted. I hate fans that sugar coat flaws or refuse to acknowledge a lost by the Celtics until it comes back and bites them in the ass. A lost is still a lost. Don't sugar coat it, gloss over it, ignore it or think of it as being lesser than what it is based on the team that they'd played. The supposed Celtics fans on here are no better than the trolls. And I thought the Boston dot com forum was bad. These Celtics posters on here could take the cake. Talk about a blatant jerk on here. Jeez. I would laugh if it was at least funny but it's tough to laugh at a lame comment. And of course everyone else follows suit. Figures. One jerk... Everyone's a jerk. I reckon intelligent conversation doesn't exist in the minds of certain mods or posters. Oh, the Celtics lose a few games at home. No, big deal... They've the league's best record. They've fewer losses at home than the rest. How tacky or clich

Exactly my thoughts.
I had to stop reading the sixer thread because of how ridiculous it got. Pistons had just lost to Philly 7-10 days before AT HOME, does that mean they're doomed? No.

No kidding. Truth is this team is most impressive, IMHO. When they REALLY sense a challenge it seems like they do overcome it. Other times maybe they play pretty hard but reserve that 'something extra."
I think that's rather like the character of the team - and much like how PP plays. I have noticed that in the big games (for him) he comes out with that somehing "extra" more often then not.
I suppose that could be seen as a bash as the fans LOVE guys that play all out (but might actually be inferior) every single time on the court. But I rather like the idea of having talent in reserve that can kick it up when needed.
The beat the Lakers (always big for Pierce) - they beat the Spurs in Texas. Pretty much every "challenge" game they have won. I really can't think of one of those kind of games they lost.

Agreed.
But these are the whiny overreactive fans who freak out when our chance to go 82-0 vanishes in November.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
