Celtics will NOT win the NBA Championship

Post#1 » by Duganov 34 5 20 » Mon Apr 7, 2008 10:15 pm

So I'm watching PTI, and than the SportsCenter commercial comes up and they say "we got all the new stuff for you, blah blah, and why the Celtics will not win the NBA championship." It started at 6:00, and I'm watching it right now to see what they have to say. I have to go in 15 minutes so i might not catch it, but if someone has time can watch it.
I hate those haters, I really hope we're gonna win it all.

I'm pretty sure they said "why the TIGERS won't win the championship," seeing as they discussed such topic after the commercial break. You know, how no 0-6 team has ever won a World Series. In fact, Tony K in the Big Finish declares "Kevin Garnett BETTER win the MVP this year" after the greatest turnaround in NBA history is mentioned. (Sorry, I watch this show every day.)

Consider this fire extinguished. ibtl

I had to go and I couldn't watch it.
They showed The BIG 3 and said they can't go to the finals but didn't say a reason, the rest I couldn't watch

pti is a good show. I actually respect what both of those guys have to say, plus they don't come off as ignorant when stating their opinions like some sports guys do. The show I can't stand is around the horn because the "scoring" is based on nothing other then what the host thinks. Plus the host looks like he's 16 years old so that makes it even worse, it's not like he's some wise respected old sports guy. The show would be cool if the audience voted for who wins the debates or if somehow they did it so people could vote online.

I've heard...

"The Celtics can't win a championship because neither of the Big 3 has been to the Finals."

People lose credibility making ignorant statements such as these, I really have learned to just ignore the Haters, sometimes I like to fire them up a bit though, but just realize these are the same people picking the Bulls to go to the Finals and the Raptors to win the Atlantic in the beginning of the year.

:::

The PTI guys used to **** me big time, but I don't mind them to much now. I agree, they do talk too much about football and baseball though.

One the one hand, there's a valid historical point.

On the other hand, unless the opponent is the Spurs or the Lakers, there won't be a lot of Finals experience on the other side either. And Kobe does NOT have a great track record of willing his team to victory in the post-season.

The old "experience" issue is really overrated in sports - just ask the Patriots. Jordan won his first without a main guy who had been there - so did Shaq and the Lakers and so on...and so forth.
