Rondo

I know none of you have a crystal ball, but in your best opinions do you believe Rondo will play out the final 6 games? Or will he get rest like the big 3? I figure with them out that they would at least need Rondo in there for some stabliity for the young guys? but i could be wrong. This is fantasy playoff time and I would hate to insert him in there and have him with DNP's. Good luck to you guys by the way going forward.

I see no point in "resting" Rondo other than to give Cassell more minutes and into the flow of things. He seems out of the loop more so than Brown. Cassell certainly needs these last few games before the playoffs. As a head coach, you should already know what you've in veterans such as Pierce, Garnett and Ray Allen where you can pick your spots to rest them as they say. But, these are opportunities for the remaining starters: Rondo and Perkins to assert themselves even more in their absence. I believe the ball should be dominated more by Rondo with the big three not handling the ball as much. This is when Rondo must take over games on his own if they aren't playing. Prove to himself that he makes it a big four as oppose to the big three on the team.

Is Mark Murphy usually correct? or do you think he made this assumption from the fact that they just brought up Pruit? and the fact that Sam C needs quality time?

Rondo will sit out at least 2 of these six games. Murphy is very reliable.

I'm suprised. Rondo's a young guy and I'd figure we'd want him in as many scenerios as possible with or without the Big 3.

It'd be like siting Perk to get PJ Brown into a groove and touch up on Baby.

The big 3 have a decade of experience and I'm not worried about their games come playoff time and ability to mentally handle some rest. Rondo and Perk are both under 25 IIRC

It is good for Rondo to get a couple of games off. He deserves it. He also had some minor injuries throughout the season, so it is nice for him to get some rest.

Of course, a lot has to do with Doc wanting to give Cassell more time, so he gets into a rhythm before playoffs. And they want to evaluate Pruitt and his progress.

Sam needs some mins he has looked like crap, he is shooting 32% since coming to Boston with a 1:1 A:T ratio.

Yeah I like Sam but he has a been underwhelming thus far. If you didn't see him play elsewhere you would think Eddie House is the better basketball player..

LOL...I was thinking the same thing. My guess is that there are PLENTY of seats open.

Sam is a nice addition and hopefully has a role come playoff time. But the Celtics' playoff chances don't hinge on Sam.
