Do you guys honestly see him play and think ALL STAR.

If rondo's an all-star that speaks more to the sad state of PGs in the East then his ability.

There should at least be one of Billips/Gilbert and another Miller around in the East Conference at all times and Rondo may one day get to the Miller type of effectiveness.. but his flaws are extremely obvious when you watch him.

rondo is a very entertaining point guard. he is flashy with very good fundamentals. he also makes great use of his athleticism, speed and his long arms.

i think he has a chance to make it to the all-stars in the future.

nevertheless guys, don't get upset with haters. they don't have any idea.

Of course he's also perhaps the best defensive point guard in basketball and he doesn't turn the ball over. Why can't he be an allstar? Billups and Miller are 31 years old, Gilbert Arenas isn't a point guard. I wouldn't put Miller in this conversation anyway.

East PGs

Billups
Calderon

Hinrich
Rondo
Ford
Miller

Hinrich took a step back, Ford is a constant injury threat. Billups and Calderon are clearly the top-2 to me at this point in time.

Rondo's flaws are definitely obvious, but he also does things that no other point guards in basketball do. His skillset is incredibly unique.

Rondo's been one of the better midrange point guards in the league.

Yep, three point shooting and free throw shooting. And...that's it. So?
He doesn't take many threes, and he's averaging less than 3 FTA a game.

What are his other "extremely obvious" flaws?

oh please. One Knick fan who doesn't get to see Rondo play that much doesn't represent most fans. Rondo has been getting some love - and it's deserving.

He is a huge part of the C's success this year and has really surpassed expectations - even those lofty ones. Rondo is Danny Ainge's best draft pick, IMHO.

Holding onto him was a serious coup. Danny Ainge managed to dump the fool's gold "young talent" we had and stick with guys who are the real deal like Rondo and Powe.

look, you are just ignoring the issue. Rondo has played extremely well this year, and what the bitches' fan wrote was a load of garbage.

granted, in this instance, you can point out that this particular bitches' fan called Hedo an useless scrub (this season)- so you can fairly doubt his ability to judge talent....

However, rondo has been fun to watch all season, and he just shat on bitches for 23-10-5 (on 11-15 shooting)... you would think he would get a little credit. A lot of people in the national media still think the pg position will kill us in the playoffs. Actually watch Rondo and then tell me what you think.

We win some games in the playoffs, make the finals, continue to win next year, then Rondo can be an all-star. His stats aren't going to wow people with his role on this team, but he's a pretty special talent out there and the more exposure he gets, obviously, the more recognition he gets. Sure, he's got plenty of room to improve, but the strides his game took this year are just amazing. He's one of the best defender's at the point already, but D doesn't seem to land anyone all-star votes.

If Tony Parker could be an all star and a final MVP, why can't Rondo? His game will only get better every single year, and he's just 22.

Would you rather have oft-inj Ford over Rajon Rondo? I'd love to know how many GMs around the league would.

Every nationally televised Celts game I've seen this season has had the commentators trimming, waxing and then gobbling on Rondo's sack.

All that's been asked of him this season is to find ways of contributing without getting in the way of Pierce/RAllen/KG so that we can win some ball games. He's exceeded those expectations. Those who think otherwise are either clouded by bitterness or from the tristate area, most likely both.
