No, I actually like Dan Dickau. I don't like Wally, though. The point remains, though, if Ray Allen isn't going to bring it offensively he needs to play defense. There is no reason what so ever that Szczerbiak should have got that many easy looks with Ray covering him. It's not like Wally is moving at the speed of light. Hell, it's not like he is even moving.

KG with Rondo a close second. I mean those 2 guys carried the team. They were great last night.

Dead on. KG carried the team on his shoulders, with Rondo and Posey close seconds.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I guess I'm one of the only ones who thought Perk was having as big an effect as KG. His defense last night was DPOY quality. I think this could be a big series for him.

Perk was great defensively, but so was KG and KG also had a phenominal offensive game and hit the big shots. That's why I chose him, but Perkins efforts definitely did not go unnoticed.

Both Perk and KG swallowed up LeBron and forced turnovers and altered shots from him all night with their help D. Posey is getting a lot of the credit for the D on LeBron, and he did play great D (Pierce D was very good, too), but it was our big guys who played the biggest role in shutting down LeBron, IMO. The help/team D was just incredible last night. Any time LeBron beat Posey or Pierce off the dribble, he still had to go through Perkins AND KG to get to the rim. By half time, he basically stopped going to the hoop and jacked up outside shots until that final possession. I have no doubt that was due to Perk and KG and not because he couldn't beat Posey (or Pierce) off the dribble.

The defensive gameplan was great. KG barely paid any attention to Ben Wallace and Perk (and KG, when he was at center) gave Z the 18 foot jump shot instead of following him out on the perimeter and giving Posey/Pierce the task of going 1 on 1 with LeBron all game. Even though he's a good shooter and had a good game, I'll gladly let Z take 18 footers over LeBron uncontested layups/dunks after he beats the 1st line of defense.

If I'm the Cavs, I play Joe Smith over Wallace the rest of the series. At the very least, Smith can hit the open 12-16 footer and take some of the pressure off LeBron. KG couldn't help out on that last possession because he knows Joe Smith is a very good mid-range shooter. If Wallace was in for Smith, KG would've just left him wide open knowing he can't hit that shot and LeBron would've had to go through Posey then Perkins and KG instead of "just" Posey and Perkins.

^ Thats a good point and amazingly it wasn't made last night. For a team as good as us defensively to have the option of not guarding a player at all is a pretty big advantage. I think they would go a long way towards being more competitive by sitting Wallace.

KG was big for us down the stretch as well as Sam I Am. I was so shocked that Rondo had a VERY quiet game after his explosion in the first quarter. If he had played solid throughout the game, we wouldn't even have needed KG down the stretch to come out big.

Posey's defense should also get some mentioning, I mean damnit, when Pierce was on the bench via foul trouble, Posey came in and played SOLID defense on LBJ. Forcing LBJ to shoot jumpers and pulling together the team's team defense philosophy to not let LBJ get the easy jams.

That's funny, I was thinking that if Pierce and Ray Allen didn't shoot like they played for St. Williams' School of the Blind, MAYBE KG wouldn't have had to carry the load.

If you ignore KG's contributions on both sides, we got our butts kicked in game 1. IMO there shouldn't have even been more than one choice listed. Others made nice contributions, but still...

Agreed 100%

But there are still Celtics fans, believe it or not, who don't like KG

So it could be a losing argument...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
