Everyone flops, it's a fundamental part of the game. How else can the soft "superstars" of today's league contend?
We old-timers know they wouldn't last a single game during the pre-nohandcheck and Jordan-rules era.
Heck, when I play in the gym I get manhandled in the post 24/7 and there's a "no fouls called" rule. Although I'm playing against scrubs, I would be averaging 25/10 every night if I were to get calls from refs. I get hit on the head, shoved in the back, hit on the elbow during shooting, and average a modest 12/6.
If a casual baller like me could take contact, why can't the soft players in the NBA?

Those of you who think Paul Pierce is a master-flopper are kidding right? As much as I hate the "star-system", it exists, and Pierce has been for his entire career one of the stars who gets the LEAST amount of calls in the league. Witness the 2002 ECF, where was he getting **** MAULED every time to the hoop and hardly got calls. Or when he got upended by Amare in a blatant flagrant foul, landed on his FACE, broke teeth...and NO FOUL WAS CALLED!

It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Wouldn't you do it if it was helping you win games. He gets more free throws because of it. I don't blame him for doing this. Look at Paul Pierce, he throws his arms up and yells when he goes inside.
NO!
its cheating. one thing I hate about the NBA is flopping. reggie miller was an oldie who did it alot. Pierce has found the art of the flop works now, cept he is a bad actor at it.

seriously, just play the game.

I agre, pierce is one player in the league who get killed alot and takes abuse and then doesnt get the calls. you think he goes to the line alot these days ? he should get double what he gets.
but get real, he is a flopper now. he has figured out it works. but I laugh when he does it cause he is such a bad actor at it.

You wanna see bad acting? How about LeBron flailing and falling out of bounds last night simply because he lost his balance and Posey was right in front of him. The replay CLEARLY showed Posey didn't come anywhere near touching LeBron, and....they call a foul on Posey.
Jeff Van Gundy on the ESPN telecast was apoplectic at the call, saying flopping needs to be dealt with league-wide starting next year (I agree).
Ridiculous display by LeBron, and I like the guy, but COME ON!!!

It seems to me that Pierce exaggerates and flails his arms when he actually gets hit, to let the refs know that there was contact. I've been watching the guy his whole career, and I've never seen him pretend to get hit like a WWE wrestler--or Rocky and Apollo Creed in the fight in Rocky II--the way some players, LeBron James, for example, do.

I refer to my post above mentioning that ridiculous display by LeBron on that play with Posey...
The San Antonio Flops are the kings, though. Manu Ginobli, Bruce Bowen, Tim Duncan, Tony Longoria...those guys are PROS at flopping.
NBA needs to end this **** soon...it's ruining the games!

I was about to write a reply, but walking to my keyboard I was grazed by a fly and fell back 15 feet into the stands with an eye injury and a sprained knee.

LeBron, is that you? Did you post under Athanacropolis' name? Or maybe it's you, Manu Ginobli? Tony Longoria?
