Blowouts (team record 4 - 0):

Pierce - 18.5 ppg on 46% FG, 3.5 apg, 5.5 rpg, 2.0 TOs/game in 31.8 mpg.
Garnett - 18.3 ppg on 48% FG, 9.0 rpg, 4.3 apg, 1.0 spg, 1.5 bpg in 33.3 mpg
Allen - 14.8 ppg on 40% FG in 34.5 mpg

Close games (team record 1 - 3):

Pierce - 14 ppg on 36% FG, 5.8 apg, 3.8 rpg, 3.5 TOs/game in 34 mpg
Garnett - 25.5 ppg on 52% FG, 8.5 rpg, 3.3 apg, 3.0 spg, 1.0 bpg in 41.3 mpg
Allen - 13.5 ppg on 41% FG in 40.7 mpg

These numbers suggest the exact opposite of what those in the thread have said thus far. Pierce's and Allen's numbers are actually inflated by the blowouts, and their contributions have been putrid in the games that were actually competitive. Of the big 3, KG is the only one that has stepped it up in the close games.

If Pierce and Allen get it going from here it's not an issue since the Celtics are still where they want to be overall, but as of now it is certainly worrying that two of the best players on the team are having so much trouble right now.
Alle stats are pretty equal, just one point differential, PP offensive stats are way inflated. But maybe we blow out teams because PP and Ray are scoring well? Plus the last game Vs. Cleveland hurts PP and Ray stats way too much.

I've done some math here...

Stats including the awful game 1 of Cleveland series

Blowouts (team record 5 - 0):

Pierce - 18.6 ppg on 47% FG, 5.6 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.4 spg, 1.6 to
Garnett - 17.2 ppg on 49% FG, 9.6 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.0 spg, 1.4 bpg, 1.6 to
Allen - 15 ppg on 39,7% FG, 2.4 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1 spg,1.4 to

Close games (team record 1 - 3):

Pierce - 14 ppg on 36% FG, 5.8 apg, 3.8 rpg, 3.5 TOs/game in 34 mpg
Garnett - 25.5 ppg on 52% FG, 8.5 rpg, 3.3 apg, 3.0 spg, 1.0 bpg
Allen - 13.5 ppg on 41% FG, 4.25 rpg, 3 apg, 0.5 spg, 1.25 to

Stats excluding the awful game 1 of Cleveland series

Blowouts (team record 5 - 0):

Pierce - 18.6 ppg on 47% FG, 5.6 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.4 spg, 1.6 to
Allen - 15 ppg on 39,7% FG, 2.4 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1 spg,1.4 to

Close games (team record 0 - 3):

Pierce - 17.3 ppg on 40.5% FG, 6.3 apg, 3.3 rpg, 2.7 to
Allen - 18 ppg on 44.7% FG, 4.3 rpg, 3.7 apg, 0.7 spg, 0.3 to

Excluding that bad bad game, Allen's stats in close games are on the rise, pretty much like KG, it's PP that sinks... Don't be fooled from the only 4 FGA in Game 1 vs Cleveland, it was a defense choice, let score KG and don't unleash Ray's power.

Our best players need more shots.

This is the playoffs....young guys and role players who don't know their roles won't make enough shots consistently.

Defensively we can't be dropping the ball on guys like Smith and Wally Z.

We need to keep Big Ben off the glass and foul his butt any time he touches the ball or not (within reason).
