Eddie House OWNS Sam Cassell
This is not three years ago where a statement like this would be nonsense.
Sam is 38 now and last year he was riddled with injuries. Now hes our backup guard replacing Eddie House?
House provided us some offense and his defense is probably the same as Sam's.
House actually pushed up the ball and ran when he got a chance. Sam does none of that.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH DOC??? IS HE TOO SCARED TO BENCH CASSELL?

That, or he's to scared to play House, who has been cold as heck since even before Cassell was signed.

Nope.
If you notice when House misses his shots, its always towards the end during scrub minutes when the Celts are losing.
Even if its a blowout by the Celts and he gets to play, its totally different for him now.
Put yourself into his position. He gets replaced by a crappier guard and then now is known as a official scrub player.
His competitive spirit is not there and is probably a good reason why hes cold as heck.
If Doc actually made him more involved throughout the Game, we could have the old House back whose been good from the 3's throughout the year. Theres no denying he shot well during the season when he actually played.

House is a streaky guy. But when he's cold he doesn't force the issue, he doesn't turn the ball over, and he is a better defender than Cassell. He also fits in to team chemistry rather well.
Cassell is better against the press, or when he has a hot stroke going.
But Eddie House was part of our great chemistry most of the season, Cassell, on average, is not an upgrade IMO. Only when he is hot.
After PJ and Cassell were signed, someone started a thread here worried that Doc planned to use Cassell and PJ and insurance options, because he wouldn't be criticized for relying on them (by the average fan and the media). Unfortunately that might just the what Doc had in mind.
Rondo is the problem? Hell no. Even when he has an off-game we are often worse with him on the bench.

Everyone talks about Sam vs. Eddie in offensive terms but in actuality it is Sam's defense and low energy level overall that make him a liability. His shot is his ONLY saving grace. Eddie has the same type of shooting ability but he plays with a higher energy level, he's a better defender, and he doesn't slow the tempo down to a grinding halt on offense. In essence, Eddie is a true role player whereas Sam is a fading star who has the greater potential impact on the game, the thing is that it goes both ways; Sam can save you when he's hot, but he can kill you when he's not because he's such a poor defender. Eddie is the better option IMO. I'd also give Tony a shot at Wally Z on both ends of the court because Wally is ABSOLUTELY TORCHING Ray Allen.

Not only that, but Tony is the better option to get Wally in foul trouble, and Ray Allen is a better, more valuable player if limited to 32-34 minutes per game because he's a better shooter when not tired.
But I'm done making these arguments because I've become resigned to the fact that we are not going to see certain things change

They need to find more minutes for Eddie.
- if Sam is bricking his shots, and Eddie is bricking his shots, I'd much rather have those bricks coming from 3-point range. Why? Because the threat of a 3 point shot won't allow defenses to sag as much. Cassell crowds the floor too much, because when he spots up, he's usually in the mid-range area anyhow. I'd much rather have Eddie shootin bricks from 3 as opposed to Cassell dribbling the ball and bricking from 3 point range. Having Eddie in the game puts the ball more into one of the Big 3's hands, and that's something the Celts need.
- he runs that floor, hoping to get an open jumper from the corners. The Celts need to get their running game going. Advance the ball with the pass. Sam holds onto that thing and walks it up the court. That's not good. We've gotta beat the Cavs' defense up the court before they have a chance to get set. Having Eddie spotting up usually pulls a defender to the corner, allowing Pierce to get into that lane.
Whether or not Eddie gets minutes, the one thing I do want to see tomorrow are the Celts pushing that ball up the court.

At this point, there are only 2 possible explanations.
1. Doc is the worst coach ever and fails to see how detrimental Cassell is to the team.
2. Doc is afraid of Cassell's oversized ego and personality to sulk and become a cancer.
In either case, I see no reason to bring Doc back next year. We can't have a coach who can't make adjustments. It's not like Sam's at least playing good D, he's getting beat by Daniel Gibson consistently.

After watching this team absolutely sucking in evey road game, how can you say that Tony's energy, defense and ability to get to the hoop are horrid.
Who else is doing any of this?
Wally gets 4 pointers in the 3rd. I think Tony might have had something to say about that.
Eddie over Sam, I'd sure try it. Worked all season.

My vote is option 2. Danny and Doc have to do this in order to preserve "harmony" and save face since this experiment blew up in their faces.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

even if house can nto hit the right side of a barn, the one thing he does do though is PUSH THE FRICKEN BALL. He will get the ball up the court quick and get us into our offense quicker than Sam. I think if you are Doc you have to make an adjustment and at this point you obvioulsy can not make a HUGE adjustment but an adjustment like brining Eddie in to back up Rondo is one I think you can do easily. He will be going against Boobie probably, and has the speed to stay with him but also he will force Boobie to guard him as well. I like Eddie, I ahve all year and I dont get why he is penalizeed for helping us win 66 games. Sam was supposed to be insurance but more importantly he was still adjusting to the offense, but as much as I like Sam he is not doing anything that is EXTREMLY better than House. Shoot at this point I almost wish we waited for Tyrone Lue
