Easy way to beat the Pistons...

Post#1 » by DieselCeltic » Fri May 23, 2008 10:38 pm

We need to play TOUGH DEFENSE and just play physical against them. Someone should step up and take out Richard Hamilton. Foul him hard every time he goes to the rim. I mean HARD even if its going to cost us a flagrant foul. If Big Baby won't play that night put him in for defensive purposes and just have him give out some hard fouls on Billups and Rip Hamilton.

Game 2 for the most part they were running free. Knock them down a few times. Make them earn every single basket. I don't think Ray Allen can guard Rip Hamilton either.

Let me just say that I never liked Hamilton he is just too cocky and arrogant. I hate when he runs looks like a rabbit in a forrest man. Just foul him hard. Have him wear that mask for a life time..

I've always been fond of this idea of taken out their star player. I mean injure Billups,Prince,Rip,Sheed,Hunter,McDice,Stucky,Maxiell,Ratliff and honestly how good are the pistons then?

what abt double rip and/or stuckey whenever they get the ball? i would leave prince alone and let him heave it all day from the perimeter. yeah he might be good, but let him take 25-30 shots during the gm. rondo "should" be able to stay par with a < 100% billups.

also put a hand in dice's face for those midrange jumpshots

But aren't the Celtics supposed to be the best defense in the league?

Actually the Celts might be too aggressive on defense. The Pistons are not an athletic team. Aside from Maxiel and Stuck there is little to no athleticism in their rotation. You don't have to be physical with them.

It there is one major flaw I could point out for the Celts in the first couple games is that they are sending Detroit to the freethrow line way too often. Detroit is a team that will struggle to score at times because everything they do aside from the Tayshaun post or Stuck Diesel drive is perimeter oriented.

I think the easiest way to beat them is to score more points than they do. If you can finish the games with more points than the Pistons, you most likely can come away with a victory.

I agree with ya, Detroit pisses me off especially Billups he looks like a rat and Pistons in general have that cockiness to them when they played philly then just turning the jets when they felt like it wasn't cool.

Yea, if Detroit-San Antonio make it, its a finals nobody outside those cities give a rats ass about it...cause it will be boring, yes game 7 but still lakers-celtics is a good matchup that everybody wants.
