Except for the fact that McDyess is getting the jumpshot off pick and rolls. McDyess and Wallace set screens (pick) and then pop to the open spot for the jump shot (roll). Whether you wanna call it the pick and roll, the pick and pop, screen and roll, whatever, thats what the Pistons do.
Perkins is guarding McDyess, that's his man. McDyess is playing center.
We're talking about the many times when Perkins badly cheats and leaves Mcdyess open. This is not a function of what Mcdyess ( he's not even in the play) is doing but a conscious action by Perkins (or coaching staff) to give him the open jumper when the ball is swung. All that is happening is Perkins cheats off, then a McDyess takes a couple of steps back and they swing the ball to him for the easy J.
It's a loser strategy. Perkins is not cable of "cheating" and then rotating back.

If you have 3 big man capable of shooting for 20+ feet away from the basket(Maxiell, Wallace and Mc Dyess) it's really a ridlle, the thing you need is to overpower them on offense to force their coach to change them, if Perk were able to destroy Dice down low he will be replaced from Ratliff but Perk can only defend strong low post big man, that's all, we need to put poey on Dice on defense and He has to make akk the efforts to not be overpowered or just hop McDyess misses some shts, hi fg% is unreal.
