Two Things

That make me worry about this team winning a championship this year.

1) Earlier this year I was a little worried about all the unforced errors and the poor passes that this team makes, and the last three games it has cost this team one game and they almost let two slip away from them. Rondo and Pierce are the biggest two that make careless passes and the team as a whole make too many unforced errors. They to button this up and play more crisp because too many times they look just plain bad and dodn't play like a championship caliber team.

2) How does this team and Doc make a rookie look like an all-star? Neither Pierce nor Posey can stay with this guy, yet TA sits on the bench being our best perimeter defender. If we face the Lakers in the finals what will Kobe do to these guys? You think TA will be at the top of his game having no run at all in the playoffs, and then People will say that this is why he didn't get time. What made this team so good during the season is that we created matchups when needed and now we just go with a certain lineup and get burned because Doc refuses to match the matchups we need.

Let's not worry about HOW/WHEN/IF'S etc..just end the Pistons in game 6 and then the real party begins.

TA's hurt, I think.

Before last night Doc just wasn't playing him.

But now he's hurt his hamstring.

That's why Scal was in uniform last night.

Tony has a bum ankle and beyond that it isn't like he is going to walk in and be able to wrap up Stuckey. Rookie or not that kid can play and he has the type of game that is very difficult to contain in the playoffs. I know that abscence makes the heart grow fonder but Tony is very likely to pick up two quick fouls and just add to the FT parade.

You have to remember this is the Eastern Conference finals the team we are facing is pretty friggin' awesome. They are going to make tough shots even when you play great defense and if you help too much they find the open man.

As for the turnovers they are not all simply unforced errors, the Pistons are trapping Pierce and Garnett at 30-35 ft from the basket and jumping the passing lanes. Those lollie pop passes are ugly but at times what they are trying to do is pass the ball to space to let their teamate go get it because they are covered.

The defense on both ends in this series should be appreciated. While it always looks like a bad pass when a ball gets stolen, in this series it is great defense that is taking away passing lanes that a traditionally open and at the same time not overcommitting and giving up an easy look.

While I would not accuse the Lakers of looking ahead (I will myself), that is the thing that would scare me watching the C's. Is that while they will have an advantage in the backcourt Fisher and Bryant will have their hands full with Rondo and Allen if he is all the way back. While they have a talented frontcourt, they don't have one match up advantage on either end, especially if Perk is going to be any kind of threat on the blocks.

That is what makes Garnett so special offensively even though he is frequently dissed for it. I know everyone wants him to pound the ball down low and score inside of 5 ft. But you can help on that, the closer to the basket you are the easier it is to help without leaving your man. Which is what LAL has been able to do Duncan. But when you shoot your face up jumper from 20 ft as well as your jump hook in the lane you can't help on that.
