And keep in mind that the 04 Pistons have been the only team since they went to the 2-3-2 format to win all 3 middle games. But like it was stated earlier in the thread stealing a game is the whole key to turn the 2-3-2 in the favor of the team without HCA.

In other words, exactly the same as in a 2-2-1-1-1 series. Therefore, HCA is an advantage no matter how it's structured. Glad to see we agree on this DEEP3CL.

We will see at some point if it is a non-starter.
If each team steals a game, as often happens, the critical game 5 is away and that is very different than the 2-2-1-1-1 and that's why 7 games series are so rare in the finals now.
