He did very well yesterday and at the end of the 5th game.

But the true test lies ahead!

It took several playoff losses for me to bash Doc, but I must say he did well in this series. I was shocked when he left Posey in during the stretch. That was the key, and props to Doc for sticking with it.

A. Very solid decisions by Doc tonight.
B. You have to lay the groundwork for guys to tolerate variable minutes the way Doc hands them out. Ray not in down the stretch? That won't backfire on Doc. It would backfire on many other coaches.

That's gunna be a lot harder vs LA with Gasol down low, than it was against maxiel, sheed and mcdyess

I disagree, I don't think LA can carry the collective jock-straps of Detroit's interior defense, Gasol is long, but he's not that great of a defender. I like Gasol, even wanted to see him in green before the KG miracle occured, but he is inarguably a soft player.

I've been a Doc fan all along, he's respected by the players and the league in general, the only people who really get on him are the media, who should never be listened to, and a bunch of know it all bloggers (yeah, I'm a hypocrite).

One advantage I think we have this series is the Perk vs Gasol matchup. I know Gasol is better, he'll score more and he's had a great playoffs, but he hasn't gone up against a banger all playoffs to this point. In the first round he was against Camby, a skinny weakside shotblocker who's pretty soft. In the second round he went against Okur, a soft three point shooter. In the WCF he played against Duncan, another PF playing out of positon (with a bit of a soft streak in him too) or whatever scrub the Spurs threw out there at center.

Perk is a banger, I don't think Gasol will be able to handle him. I think Perk will own the boards and push Gasol around. I think Perk will take Gasol out of his game.

Doc seems so much better when he has less numbers to work with, give him more and he has no idea who to play.

I agree
Simply doing the things you are supposed to do and not screwing it up is generally not viewed as brilliance. He simply did what everyone knew you had to do to win in the playoffs.
