Cool article from Derek Gentile in the Berkshire Eagle:

The October 1960 game in Lenox was the fourth of an eight-game barnstorming tour between the Celtics and Lakers. The Celtics had won two of the first three games, but things had gotten ugly in the first few tilts. Boston All-Star Russell, for example, would miss the Lenox contest. In Burlington, Vt., the night before, he had been elbowed in the head by Laker center Ray "The Count" Felix, opening up a 6-inch gash above his eyebrow. Two nights before that, in Brattleboro, Vt., forward Tommy Heinsohn had been ejected for throwing a basketball into the stands to protest a call.
In 1953, Boston All-Star Cousy and forward Charles "Chuck" Cooper were stopped for speeding in Adams en route to a game in central Massachusetts. The team was amid a span of 19 games in 19 days in four states. A police officer suggested they might be thrown in jail until a local judge could be contacted.
"Fine," Cousy said. "At least we'll get some sleep."
