Game 1 Is a Must Win

Game one is a must win game for us. We need to take that type of mentality going into the game. Phil Jackson's teams that win game one of a playoff series have about a 80% rate of winning those series.

While every game is very important in the playoffs, this game is very important to us. Again, we need the great fans of Boston to go wild and crazy at the game and make a lot of noise. We need the fans to give us the extra energy and become our 6th man.

Phil Jackson is 100% after winning game 1's. If the Celtics lose game 1, I don't think they'll be back for game 6.

yeah it's 100%, as in 41-0, not 80%

78% of teams that win game 1 in the finals win the series

100% of the time that Phily Jackson wins game 1, his players win the series for him

Those are the stats.

But screw the stats, the way I look at it. If we win game 1 and 2, the worse case is LA has to beat us in our house to win the series.

Losing game 1 of course would be bad but it wouldn't be the end of the world. Those "so and so is" statistics are meaningless because these are different teams matching up. Phil's Jordan teams don't count as those guy aren't playing..

Espn is right now leading the world in uselsess statistics. I mean according to them we had no chance of beating either Cleveland or Detroit because our first series went to 7 games. <g>
