Who does Bill Walton want to win? Who he thinks will win?
I remember a poster asking who Bill Walton would want. I caught an interview with him on ESPN last night and they asked who he wants to win, he said that he is a Celtic for life, not only did they give him basketball back but they also gave him his life back, however he said he is a Dad first and wants whats best for his kid and thats Luke winning a ring.
They then asked who he thinks will win, he said "on paper" the Lakers have Kobe Bryant, they have a perfect team however the game is not played on paper and he thinks that KGs urgency to win a championship allong with other factors make him choose the Boston Celtics to win.

Well I dont think anyone would want to lose, they work for different teams and it would be a shame if they wanted the Celtics to win. I did catch an interview last night where a reported asked who Bird wants to win the Celtics/Lakers finals and he said definetly the Celtics

Steve Deossie part 2.
Deossie was ripped when he said he was going to root for the giants in the super bowl because his son plays for them. This after working as an analyst all year for the patriots.
People who ripped into Deossie, and people who will rip into walton are idiots. It is his son for gosh sake.

Walton was interviewed on ESPN radio today. He was talking about defensive assignments and state that the Lakers had no answer for PP. He even dismissed his own son's ability to guard PP.
It was pretty funny and the hosts joked about it afterwards. Imagine your dad saying you had no chance of guarding someone on national radio.

Especially 'cos it's true.
And I loved Larry Bird saying "I look forward to the Celtics winning another championship"
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

There's no sense in asking that question. None of us are at all like Bill Walton. He is a very unique person. I'm sure he said he wants the Lakers to win, because anything else would make him look like a bad father. But if you've ever heard the guy talk about his love for the Celtics and playing alongside Larry Bird, you wouldn't think it was far-fetched for him to be secretly pulling for the Celts. For one thing, he probably sees the Lakers as being set up to make a run at the Finals for the next 4-5 years. Also, there's probably a part of him that would like to see his son win on a team other than the Lakers.
I was the poster Tricky Ricky was referring to that originally posed this question. And as I said before, Bill Walton said the birth of his children took a back seat to receiving a picture perfect pass from Larry Bird. That's how excited the man gets when talking about the Celtics and his re-birth as a player in Boston. The guy is out of his mind, and I love it.

I love my sons. But if my sons played for the Celtics, I would still want the Lakers to win. Thats what they get for not demanding a trade to the Lakers.......
On a serious note. How could any father want their son to lose???? And how could anyone that ever loved an org want it to be on the losing side? I think Mr Walton loses either way....
