Question On Pierce's Injury....

Post#1 » by Matt34520 » Fri Jun 6, 2008 2:37 pm

If he said he heard a pop, is that a sign of a tear? Or would they have known already...

because if its a tear, thats the end of Pierce for this year. I remember Mike Tyson tore his miniscus and had to have surgery.
Ray still got game.

I think he said he felt a pop.

I would assume last night they would of gotten a scan if the doctors noticed anything in the locker room

I've done 2 ACL's and two mensicuses. Paul wouldn't have had the explosion he had or balance if the ACL was blown. To me it seems like he tore his meniscus but with proper bracing and rest techniques as well as a painkiller it won't affect his play. The meniscus gets painful as hell as you feel it pull when you make cuts and run but with a painkiller or the adrenaline of a finals game Paul will easily be able to play through it.

I have popped my knee before in a basketball injury and didn't have a tear...but a lot of pain.

I expect with the 2 days off, rest, treatment, etc Paul should be playing in game 2. Not 100%, but close.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I've had that, too...hurts, but you can move on it. Although I'm no pro athlete so I don't know what it's like in game situations...
