BillfromBoston has pimped any foward under 6'7" that we've drafted. I don't think anyone can claim to support them first before him on this board.

Powe is not under 6-7. He's a legit 6-8, and has a freakish wingspan that allows him to play PF without much of a disadvantage. And BfB definitely was excited about him. Most of us said 'Another Gomes' and he worked hard to try to explain how different (and potentially useful) Powe was.

A bunch of people were backing Powe before the start of this season. I thought he had a excellent rookie season - while some people AMAZINGLY called him "offensively challenged"

If I remember right bill actually saw a few of Powe's workouts in person for draft express. The guy was wayy ahead of the curb on Powe, being on the bandwagon long before there was even a "Day 1."

I guess a skeptic could say scouting him in person couldve given him a biased opinion that just happened to pan out but I'm willing to give bfb the benefit of the doubt here.

Props given.

One could also say seeing him before anyone else in person, gave him a upperhand in judging his talent.

Evereyone:

We have him signed to a three year deal. We have his Bird rights. At a minimum he is a very valuable trading chip. He does have a standing reach of 9' 2" same as Big Al, so he's not short for an NBA PF.

Powe's weakness on defense appears to be when he's playing center and not when he's playin PF. It may be a selection thing. When he was playing well they call it PF stint and when he was playing poorly they call it a center stint.

Anyways his defensive PER at PF is 13.5 and at center 26.1.
