Bill Plaschke

Post#1 » by redsox_24 » Thu Jun 12, 2008 4:02 pm

Did anyone else catch the around the horn yesterday? At the end of the show Bill Plaschke of the LA times switched his pick to the Celtics to win the championship! The only person on the show who didnt pick the Celtics I believe was Jay M. who said Lakers in seven. If this has already been posted then please lock. I just didn't see anyone bring this up. I can't believe after watching the first game in LA that Bill Plaschke would change his pick. I wonder how many other so called experts will change their pick.

That guy was bashing the Celtics so much before the series started, and said the Lakers would easily win in 5. But after game 2, when everyone else in LA was complaining about the refs, he surprisingly said that he didnt think the reffing was that bad. That the Celtics deserved to get to the line that much and the Lakers weren't aggressive enough.

My take is that tonight the referees will have to be very careful not to look like they are helping LA to extend the series, meaning that PP or KG just needs to show up tonight and the Celtics win (No matter who is at the point guard)

Probably a close game though

Win tonight and the Lakers, with the exception of Kobe and Fisher will completely disappear in game 5 and it's all over.

Interesting that the Vegas line is staying at Lakers - 7 or 8.

Who cares what Bill Plaschke, aka Mr. Lisp, thinks? He was so anti-Celtic at the beginning that this is laughable now.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

LOL This is too funny. Looks like Plaske has egg all over his face after that dumb article he wrote before the series praising the Lakers and saying they were unbeatable.

Looks like LA fans are jumping ship.

Check out this article. It also bashes KG.

Boston writers need to shut the hell up, too. First they trashed Ray when he was in a slump during the Cleveland series and the first half of the Detroit one.

Now KG, who **** CARRIED US TO THE FINALS and was the ONLY Celtic who showed up for EVERY PLAYOFF GAME, has slumped the last two games ONLY OFFENSIVELY (his D and rebounding are still great) and they're bashing him.

STFU sportswriters!

I don't think there's enough room on your Bandwagon for another pseudo-fan.

By the way ... you can have him. Everybody in LA hates Bill Platschke as much as Democrats hate Curt Schilling.

Oh man who cares about Bill Plaschke. His job is to shock people and get them to talk about what he writes. Mission accomplished.

The death threats Boston fans sent to him, though, were way out of line.

Oh yeah, death threats to Plaschke for what he wrote about Pierce. They wished death on him and his family, saying great stuff like they hoped he died of cancer.

Gotta love the internet! The power of anonymity to wish death on someone who bashes your favorite SPORTS TEAM.

I know, right? Bob Ryan was on ESPN with Plaschke a few days ago, and Ryan apologized on behalf of all Boston fans. It's pretty embarrassing. But Plaschke--who might very well be the absolute nicest guy in his private life, for all we know--took it really well.

Well it's not the real Boston fans like on here who act like that...mostly meatheads and college kids who get into it simply cos they go to school in Boston, or fairweather fans, otherwise they never gave a damn before.

Exactly.

The only person any fans here on the board wished death on was Mark Blount a few years ago  I forgot the poster, but he was livid during a particularly craptacular stretch of Blount-Ball.
