Not sure if anyone else caught this, its from Phil's press conference today, but he alludes to something KG must have said post-game. The first part is the reporter's question:
Knowing Kobe as a competitor, the report is that Pierce wanted to guard Kobe in the second half. When that information gets back to him, what do you expect out of Kobe coming into Sunday, if anything, different?
Phil Jackson: I think more or less that's not going to be as much of an interest point to him as probably what Garnett said, and that'll probably weigh strongly with Kobe, than that aspect, that Pierce wanted to guard him.
When the reporter followed up to this, asking specifically what KG said, Phil just said- "its in the transcripts"- and that was it. So I guess he thinks KG said something in his postgame conference that can be used as bulletin board material for the Lakers. Anybody have any idea what KG said that hes alluding to???

And they are just one win from another NBA title.
"Yeah," Kevin Garnett said. "I can taste it."

Right, I heard that. Just didn't know if maybe it was something else that I might have missed from KG. Probably not though, Phil = grasping for straws.

It's probably this, about the Lakers tendencies, which seems sort of tame. But whatever.
"Usually the first half is team ball, second half is usually Kobe takes over the games," Garnett said. "It just looks like they wanted to get the ball to Kobe and have him sort of finish it off. ... We were giving Kobe every look we've got in the book, from different matchups to trapping him to a guy on the bottom. We were just making other guys make plays."

That is only possible "controversial" quote that i saw reported. Phil is talking about postgame so that must be it.
However, that is really really grasping at straws, as you say. I cant see any Laker getting upset at that comment
