We Did What We Had To Do On The Road

Post#1 » by return2glory » Mon Jun 16, 2008 8:01 am

We did what we had to do on the road. After winning the first two games at home, we needed to win just one of the three road games to take control of the series. We did that and I'm proud of our guys. Another win on the road would have obviously been better because we would already be the champs now, but we still got the one.

Now we need Perkins and Rondo to get better. We need Perkins to play in game 6. Going back home, we should get more calls again. We also need our fans to get wild and crazy one more time so we can close it out in 6 and bring the title back to Boston.

I agree. We did what we had to do. Now, we need to finish this at home!

Agreed. While we could have and should have closed out in 5 (hell we seriously could have done it in 4), we'll end this thing at home tuesday. Last gasp for the Fake-show last night!!

Wow! You put it into perspective r2g, so that super-emotional fans like me can finally calm down. You are correct, and thanks!

Two weeks ago I would have been thrilled to be 3-2 and returning home, but of course now we are feeling some trepidation because we've lost a game and one of our starters is out. But I predicted C's in 6, so winning the next one at home will be even sweeter. I know the team can do it; I just want to hear the majic words: "Perkins will play".

Perk doesn't even have to do anything on offense. Just bang inside and gets boards and play D. If he can do that with 1 1/2 arms, great!

Yeah, we're fine. We had to win 1 in LA and we did. And we have 2 home games to close it out. That's why we played all year to get home court. In this case, 2-3-2 really is beneficial to us, having 2 home games to close out the series.

Exactly. I only wanted to win in 5 badly after game 4, and also because we had it in our hands until the end last night. Ah well...tomorrow night it is!!

Yeah, and I was kinda hoping to close out at home. I want to see our fans get excited, players waving towels and everything. Lakers fans are so bad, it would not have looked good to win there.

Wouldn't you rather see our home white against their away purple on the parquet floor one more time? I'm pretty sure we'll close theme out tomorrow. Just make sure you extend the end time for your Tivo/DVR because you don't want to miss the celebration and trophy presentation.

It's always better to end it ASAP but we still have 2 more chances...we took the absolute best the Lakers had to offer last night and STILL they barely beat us.

Let's do it tomorrow!!

Nice! But you'd want to rewatch the game when you get home, no? I regretted not recording the game 7 against the Cavs when I went because I really wanted to watch the game again...

You're right. Maybe I'm getting a little overconfident, but I have very little doubt we'll win tomorrow.

The 2-3-2 format still licks balls.
