My trip to the Box Office this morning

Post#1 » by Cep » Tue Jun 17, 2008 12:03 am

Okay, so here's what happened. I showed up with a friend at nine. They handed the bracelets with the numbers. They picked a number 200 ahead of mine, so that meant I was the 200th person in line, which I figured guaranteed me tickets. I figured, if the thing can sit 18 thousand, probably 8 thou in the balcony.. since most regular fans rely on this method to get their tickets, I figured theyd put out at least a good 1,200 which seemed pretty lol but I would gotten mine anyway. So I get there, and once it starts getting to me ppl start coming out saying game 6 was sold out, so I'm like, they must be lying. I went through 2 hours of standing dreaming of Game 6 after I knew I was the 200th. But eh, they werent.. when I got to the box, I was the first person to hear the beautiful words, "sold out".

If 200 ppl got them, 2 games, 2 tickets per person, that makes it 400 tickets, 200 out for each game.
How ridiculous is it to save 200 tickets a game for the common people who actually love the team? Ridiculous. They don't care for the fans. They only did this sale thing because they had to. Putting out 200 balcony tickets for a crowd of about fifteen-hundred people lining up is just plain insulting.

Well Im gonna start off by saying Im sorry to hear you didnt get any tickets, I always feel bad for people who stand in line and dont get any especially the people their since midnight. Now to think of why you didnt get it with #200, you have to remember that a lot of people like me have plans for the playoffs and they also sell playoff strips so that eliminates tix, also you have to remember they also sell the tix online and ticket agencys get a loottttttttttttttttttttt of them this way, plus a friend who works for the Cs said the NBA took a lot of tickets for the media and themselves so that is prob where the tix went. Either way it sucks for a fan not to get tix but as long as we win tommorow I think you will be as happy home as if u were there.

Thanks for feeling for me lol. And I respect that you're a season ticket holder, and you deserve your tickets man. I just get pissed off cause so many rich folks go there because it's cool, but they don't give two craps really. Whatever, they have the money, be it. By why only reserve less than 200 tix outta like 18 thousand? That's insulting to me. It revolves around money. They want good faces on the front seats filling out the arena, famous ones, to counter LA. And although that's understandable, it still pisses me off. And I was willing to pay a good 300 bucks for it, which for many is not a lot, but it's a reasonable amount to me.

I tried last time online and on the phone the second it turned 11:00am, and they were already gone, so I figured, they must've kept them for the people who go to the Box Office. I was wrong. And I'm sure I'd be much much happier there when it happened than at home, but what can I do but accept the system and my insufficient luck.

Yeah, I heard that they carried significantly less this time. Last time I was 200 back and I got tickets. I didn't go this time, and am glad. Sorry to hear that you didn't get any man.

You probably thought you were golden too. That sucks. I wish they would only release them online and ask 10 hardcore trivia questions to reward the legit fans. Create a pool of like a thousand questions.

They released 1000 or so for games 1 and 2. Less than 400 for these games? That's weak.

I know man, that was the worse part. They let my hope go all the way up there. I could hear Lux Aeterna in my head. And then that lady tells me "sold out."

My question is. If they know there are that little tickets out there, why not just tell the people in line how many are available so if you can't make it you don't stand for useless hours?

Yeah the media cut into a ton of tickets for this game. I was only able to get three instead of my usual four-six for the last two games.

Yepp. You probably were very near me. I was number 09419. As I said, I was the first person to hear the lady say "sold out". I came home empty handed. If they knew how many tickets were there, why not just tell the people in line?

And to the guy above, how do you get them? You have season tickets?

yeah I was 09411. I must of been close on getting game 6 but they were still game 7 tickets available so I was able to buy those. Sorry if you didn't get anything =(

I agree that they should tell us how many tickets are available when they draw the winning number. It would save a lot of time for everyone.
