Your Top 5 Favorite Moments of the Playoffs

Post#1 » by DJToLarry » Mon Jun 23, 2008 10:18 pm

What would be in your list as the top 5 Celtic playoff moments of the banner 17 run?

Mine, not in any order

1. P.J. Brown jumper in game 7 against the Cavs
2. Paul Pierce coming back and nailing those 2 threes after being wheeled out
3. Ray Allen "Let's Dance" with Sasha Vujacic
4. Ray Allen's Triple Pump layup
5. Pierce skipping back into the locker room after "The Comeback" yelling "That's how you do it! That's how you do it"

It's hard to narrow it down to five, but that's mine.

Nice list. Especially #4. For the long road Powe took to become an NBA player I don't think I have been happier for any player. From living out of a car to dominating the Lakers on the worlds largest stage while his fans cheered his name. Truly amazing. And it could not have happened to a nicer person.

#3 Every shot Ray Allen hit after coming out of his slump. Every shot.

#2 Perkins having the game of his life against the Pistons.

#1 Paul Pierce running out of the locker room after being taken away in a wheelchair.

1. Anything is possibleeeeeee! Seeing the guys celebrating.

2. The comeback, when they took the lead in the 4th quarter, then Allen's layup. (So nerve racking)

3. Paul Pierce skipping through the tunnel back to the court in game 1.

4. Rondo's defense in game 6 (coming back after playing poorly in 3-5)

5. KG's putback at the end of game 2.

Honorable mention: Scalabrine's post-game presser.

The Pierce Return is a legendary event. It's up there with Havelcek stealing the ball. Or Bird stealing and tossing to DJ.

It was the public Return of the Leprachaun. From the initial dismay, to the team sucking it up, to the Rocky like return, and ending with a prophetic pair of threes. That was the series in five minutes. A resilient Celtics team methodically dismantling the glitzy favorites.

#5 Crying when we won.

The no means no chant was the funniest one I've ever herd, along with that one "take off your mask" to Hamilton
