Portland just bought New Orleans' 27th pick. (Rich owner takes advantage of cash strapped owner.)
The Blazers have a full roster plus 5 draft picks.
Here's a good article from Truehoop on the situation:

Here's their roster (not including stashed Euros Koponen and Fernandez):

Portland has excess point guards. Ainge seemed to like Jarret Jack in the past for whatever that's worth. Boston and Portland made that draft day trade two years ago. I wonder if another one might happen.
(Edit: whoops i just noticed another thread had already been started on Portland buying the 27th pick. This could have gone in there.)

I get the sense they are trying to upgrade point. I have no idea what will happen, but they could package a some players/picks and end up with say Hinrich or someone else, then move Jack out.
I think they like Jack but not as a long term starter.

Jack would be fine as a backup, but he sucks when you give him more than 20 mins a game. He doesnt make very good decisions and has a shaky shot. I dont know if he'd be interested in being Rondo's backup... especially considering Rondo will improve next year.
Id be interested in Channing Frye as a backup 4/5. He can hit a mid range shot and plays decent D. He's like a younger PJ Brown that can't seem to get minutes.

Re: Portland will be very active again
I'd guess Portland will end up in a multi-team trade in order to get their roster to work, 5 picks and a full roster seems to be too much to work with just one team. Draft night is going to be interesting even if we are picking at 30, somehow I doubt Danny will be quiet that long.

True, I think Frye sucks but he could be had for close to nothing, Id def give him a chance to be this seasons PJ Brown for us.

Frye would be good. He could flourish here. But Jack could ask for too many minutes and distract team chemistry doing so.
