It had showed the players holding basketballs with the years in which LA won it. IT STARTED WITH 1972!!!
THAT franchise is trying to conjure up false championships nowadays, because it sure as hell didn't acknowledge them before.

Exactly. I remember as a kid in the 1980s hearing about the Lakers going for their "5th" championship, their "6th", etc. The Lakers didn't even hang a banner in LA acknowledging the Minny ones until toward the end of the Shaq-Kobe era. If the entire fanbase and franchise didn't acknowledge it until then, why should anyone else?
Are you a fan of LA Lakers? How did you know the entire fanbase did not acknowledge the Minn Lakers.
I always believe Lakers should retire Milken's number since I first time I read about the Minn Lakers in 1975.
Two wrongs does not make it right. It is wrong for Jerry Buss not to acknowledge the Minn Lakers until they re-hang the banners. It is also wrong for the Boston fans like you who did not want to acknowledge the achivement of the Milken and the Minn Lakers.

^^I'm certainly no Laker fan, as a Celtic fan I'm a lifelong Laker-hater, but I obviously know more about them than you do to know it's MIKAN and not MILKEN!

Can we count my old YMCA basketball teams championships with the Celtics as well? We were nicknamed the 'Celtics', so using La La logic it counts, don't it. 19 championships and counting!
Point is, YOUR petty little franchise did NOT acknowledge them until recently. This is what makes your franchise look weak. So weak, that it makes Pau and Sasha (love the name! Can you guys draft someone named Fi-Fi in this draft to make it all complete) look like He-Man in comparison.
BTW, I LOVE all the Laker talk about their upcomming 'dynasty'. IF WE HAD BYNUM, blah, blah, blah. Like Bynum was going to help them overcome a 39 point thrashing. Man, I still can't even name or pronounce their 5th starter. I refer to him as the dirty guy whose last name starts with an 'R'.
Don't they realize that we have atleast another 2 years, then it is Cleveland for the next 5-8 years.

^^How dare any of us Celtics fans question the greatness of Kareem Abdul-JaBynum Chamberlain and his incredible 40-50 game body of work in doubting the looming Laker dynasty...

^^Hahaha. So true man... my friend who is a "Lakers fan" (he didn't talk about them until this year) has a raging hardon for Bynum. His fantasy team was named Bynum is the Next Shaq even, and he's used the "...if we had Bynum..." line several times since the finals ended. Silly Lakers fans!
Anyhow, back to the topic at hand. Either way the Celtics have more 'Ships, so personally I don't give a ****.

At the end, it is just trash talk. Isn't it? It had nothing to do with right and wrong, a true sense of history.
What about New Orleans Hornets, Utah Jazz, NJ Nets, LA Clippers, and soon OKC Supersonics?

Re: Celtics: 17, Lakers: 9
Those teams suck! It really is amazing how few NBA teams have more than 1 title:
Celtics: 17
LA Lakers: 9
Bulls: 6
Minn. Lakers: 5
Spurs: 4
Knicks, Rockets, 76ers: 2
A bunch of defunct teams with 1 or 2
Crazy.

they introduced the shot clock BECAUSE of mikan and the lakers
mikan forced the first major rule change in the NBA
its like saying uruguay's world cups dont count because of the offside rules in those days
but yes, u would have to annotate the lakers with LA, everytime you say lakers because the lakers have won 14

Re: Celtics: 17, Lakers: 9
^^It's not that so much that if the team themselves didn't even acknowledge those titles until a few years ago when it became convenient for them to, why should the rest of us?
