This. I'll pass on Ricky D.

He was the second best player on the 45-37 Boston Celtics in 2004-05.

The drop off from first to second best player, was as dramatic as 2 to 3 best player.

Ricky and D don't belong in the same sentence.

^^Neither do Ricky and Antoine.

Ricky is a loser, plain and simple.

I still say Fatoine is the most selfish player to come through boston in the past 20 years. For some reason people still love him. I don't understand the love for Fatoine!!

Man, there is a HUGE difference between who tried too hard sometimes to win (Antoine) versus someone who is a selfish prick out for himself (Ricky). Antoine had skills, wanted to win desperately, ALWAYS played hard, and yes he goofed a lot, but he gave 200% TRYING to win with the **** team he had (except for 2001-2). Ricky is the antithesis of this.

But some people are inveterate Antoine haters and will never be swayed, the way all the Doc-haters here and beyond probably still hate Doc and think he's a **** coach.

KG/Paul/Ray/doc set the tone

he respects doc; im sure that respect has grown after the playoffs this year
ray is our starter and paul---ricky is more of a 2, and can cover 3's
defense wins, but so often this year we needed scoring off the bench, so ray played 44-48 minutes alot

outside of posey knocking down open 3's---he cant create his own shot or get to the basket
ricky can
we have to consider him
ricky loved his time as a celtic and would be cheaper than pose

i love pose, but ricky's offense and athleticism on d would make up for us losing posey, which will happen----i just dont see posey taking another small deal
he became a household name this playoffs

LMAO. You either must be his agent or the most misinformed poster I've ever seen on these boards.

I'm sure Ainge (or any GM in the league) would much rather give the MLE to Posey than Ricky. It's not even close. One's a winner, the other's a loser.

I think the Antoine hate comes from his shot selection which--you have to admit--was head-scratchingly bad at times.

misinformed LMAO
i saw every game he played and he stepped up a lot and played with a ton of grit and desire--------if we draft a defensive minded wing @ 30 to work matchups-------we account for the high potential of losing JP and TA, while becoming way more athletic and more able to score during the dead stretches-------------------------did you watch the hawks series?? i guess not---or the warrior game @ GS reg season---maybe not, but huge frontlines (cleveland) and uber-atheletic teams give us trouble
now you are informed

Ricky may even come for the deal posey took last year to be a celtic again

he really liked playing for us
i know your hatin, but you cannot dispute our need for offense and athleticism---ricky and an upperclassman defensive minded wing
jamont gordon would be terrific

IF we cant re-sign 41

Return to Boston Celtics
