If I had to choose from sending him to the NBDL or to Europe I would send him to Europe. He will learn more playing a European style with the way we run our motion offense. He was selected to be a scorer for this team in the future, while Giddens was selected more for his defense for the future. It will also be a lesser stress on his newly repaired knee with the Euro season being lighter than the NBA season.
